Lucky boxes -how to to maximize the return on your investment

Hello all,
I am thinking of getting xim for lucky boxes. I have a question on optimum use of xim on lucky boxes. I know it is totally random and this is the first time I am going to buy lucky boxes. My dilemma is what combination of lucky boxes should I be buying. Should I try my luck with 2 diamonds first. Then 2 platinum, remaining on gold. Or should I just buy multiple gold at first there by maximizing the probability of getting decent armor (giving up my chances of getting awesome item

. Or should I start with gold, if I find decent armor at first, go up to diamond to try for awesome armor, else keep buying more gold. Or should I just go all in buying 5 platinum. Or do you say items don't matter it is skill that matters in this game :P Hmm.. decisions .. decisions.. this is why i never gamble

So if you are in my position and have, say, 50k xim at your disposal for barb armor. How would you go about doing it? Has anyone experimented with this and found an optimum solution?
