Right well i was born in 1980...and living in sunny stoke-on-trent...we had all kinds of influences...but i wanted to give a few.. UB40, The Human League, Yazzoo, Depeche Mode, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Gun 'n' Roses, Alice Cooper, a lot of Rap..Run Dmc, Grandmaster Flash, some dodgy pop like Kylie lol, Mc Hammer (hammertime), Bob Marley, Chaka Chan, Five Star, Pink Floyd, Phil Collins (mum fancied the pants off him), Soft Cell, Gary Numan, Eurythmics, Lionel Richie, The police, Ah Ha, The Pet Shop Boys, Terrence Trent D'arby (yum !), Erasure, Micheal Jackson, The Jackson's, Fleetwood Mac, Vanilla Ice (lol i still know all the words), Huey Lewis and the News (back to the future), Wham, George Michael (my dad would sing to him in the shower), Fine Young Cannibals, Bangles...(walk like an eqyptian..), The Cure..theres more but i cant say them all..So heres some clips curtesy of YouTube...and please tell me what music you grew up listening to...i have to say one of my earliest memories is dancing along to "sweet dreams" by Eurythmics ... lol
