I agree it should be a choice, but the more who show up to help retake a fort, the shorter amount of time it'll take to retake and then ALL of us can get back to our non-war objectives. That way, those of us who feel "duty-bound" to show up every (or almost every) time don't waste too much time at a fort getting our asses kicked by an outnumbering force 5:1.

The Mutli-role setups, to my knowledge, are easily attainable as warriors... I've never really tried them with mages/archers, though. The only exception to the warrior is the knight who is in aura-leech setup. Other than that, warriors are easy to mutli-role, imo.

But yeah, I too agree with both you and Edge. Grinding/leveling should be less agonizing and tedious and time-consuming. I understand the requirement to sell premium items such as boosters but as always, that's not an option for some people.

Or for others, who go on "Ximerin Strike" until they feel the game is more adequately balanced (yes, there are those who refuse to support the game until some modicum of class/realm/item balance is maintained).
