Psychology and Regnum
Some thoughts regarding realm selection and the psychology behind it, anyone have any insight? Here's some thoughts from what I have noticed of the 3 realms (listed in alphabetical order to remove preference... even if it puts my realm first :P:
Alsius: This seems to be the lone wolf realm. Despite the bonus, despite having players, despite having clans, Alsians are like the Goats, solo, off, disorganized, and doing their own thing. Most seem to instinctively rebel against too much control, but at the same time work together because they want to be helpful to the other players around them, when they do work together. A bit more militaristic, like Ignis, but not the group mindset. Also, with few exceptions, those Alsians that are female are really guys. :P Ignis: While supposedly having a few less players, the Ignians are like a pack of wolves. It seems to be a realm that is reasonably dominated by males (don't see too terribly many female characters, at least), and they seem to work together for combat quite well, which helps them overcome the fewer number of overall players (at least, from what I understand). More goal oriented players. Syrtis: Maybe it is just because, on some levels, the realm is more visually appealing, but far more female players in Syrtis, from what I have seen. Also, Syrtis seems to be like Alsius, in being a lot of lone wolves, as it were, but they work together out of teamwork more, sometimes. That said, this realm attracts archers like mad, so their territory is often a bit more dangerous because you almost ALWAYS run into a Hunter in Syrtis. Maybe elves just make people think of rangers, go figure, but they're nasty, so they keep Syrtis a bit safer, it seems, as scouts are everywhere, watching and protecting their realm. Thoughts? |
