Practicing 1v1 for RvR wont help much (except to lonely hunters, or testing some uber items or learning new guy about combat). Practicing coordination of team(s) is something useful for WZ (I wish Arena is team battleground, maybe like those in WoW even, with capturing flags etc). Do not forget not all spells still work in arena, and you still cant simulate well WZ field there (spells that aren't working, tiny arena space, mobs popping up from walls, ground, players popping up around and ruining events/tests, not being able to reset in Arena, various arena structure bugs etc).

As I wont ever take part in some arena events till Arena is in such a sad state, I can only offer you my range and damage for trying to keep inner arena out of intruders during your event.

I also wish you can buy Arena for some limited time, in gold, and create arena tickets with gold. Then you give tickets to those who can enter in Arena during your event (thats why you bought arena for some time, so you can organize some event).

Tickets could be like those letters we had for Valentine, and could be:
1) when you talk with Arena guardian, he gets ticket from you (disappear from inventory like in quests) and your teleportation in inner arena starts or
2) on tickets (letter-like item), organizer can write password for entering in Arena during event. Talking to Arena Guardian, he asks you for pass, you enter it, and he lets you in.
Personally, i like 1), because it is more simple and more secure way. You can tell pass in public, miss window and type in general for example.

I think practicing and finding tactics in Arena / 1 vs 1 helps you much on the battlefield, even when you rarely get to have 1 vs 1 fights there, but you learn to better understand your opponents and anticipate many actions. At least i think i learnd much from Tests and PvPs (Arena, Amun and just in WZ). Much more and faster then i did the year before where i never did PvPs..

And yeah it would be nice when we could get some base which allows us to make user-created events. and an Arena Island where you can make fights with eg. 5 vs 5 or so, would really be fun to see and take part in.
