All I have is his word and it's not the greatest item you can get from Thorkul, surely if he was lying he would have said he received a far more prestigious drop.

Alsius left Syrtis devestated for a few days and then opened the portal. They've killed Thorkul twice as revenge since.

They've also been perma-capping Trelle with everything from two-man armies to huge zergs.
