Community, and the constant thought that when you log on you believe it'll be different and it always is. You have a good experience or a shit one, it's been shit lately.
The nostalgia is strong with this game, especially for me since it was my first game on the pc. I saw what the game was and what it could have been. I've seen a good company get lazy and lazy over time. I've seen people come and go(literally RIP). I'm just a pissed off fan boy that still hopes this game will get better or NGD releases a new game on what Ro should have been. |

thanks Adrian. i feel the idea still has sound logic but respect your wishes as game owner. sry if u saw the suggestion as disruptive. a great many players in game seem to be fairly consistently dissatisfied with the numbers imbalance.

I have retired. But, what has kept me playing so long and in the forums is definitely the community. At least in times past, this place has been like a family, a global village. The level of maturity is (was) high. So many professionals from varying walks of life So many cultures, languages, so much depth to the community. I learned so much about others, their culture, their way of life. Bonds that go past this game. Some people got relationships in this game. You may leave the game but you can never truly disconnect from the community. The game was just plain fun. You got immersed in it not so much by the game mechanics but by the people around you . I must admit that some of the crazy ways you died was really funny too. The joy and thrill of battles you fought together, the ones you fought against and then, you get to have a laugh about it all on Christmas island. Contemplate running with a crew and knowing their builds, maybe make yours compatible to the crew's style, everyone working seamlessly, knowing what a colleague is going to do before they did it. Now that is a game. That is what I miss most of all these days. The community IS this game , it has always been. This is why I work myself up and come on the forums and caution , complain, brainstorm for so long. This is why I watch Fotomay's idea with complete repulsion. It is not a terrible idea, it is just not for this game. I wish I could express to you in words fotomay, what a life blood the community is. Players just want to make sure it stays and somehow keep what they have come to know over the years for both for themselves and their friends be it green, red or blue. Such is a cult classic. Who has ever played this game for some time back in the day and could ever say they forget it? |

Back to the original topic, the followings keep me playing:
1) Zina is sexy 2) fort wars are fun (the resist crap is not as annoying as in the case of an open-field pvp) 3) the community is more friendly than in most other games 4) native linux support |
