What is a typical block rate these days?

From experience it used to be about 4 hits per 100 were blocked passively, since 1.10 it is now down to about 1 per 100 if that.

I'm now evading more hits than I block and starting to think I'm better off with dex gear.

With the current RNG is pretty hard to determine an accurate block rate. In simpler terms, anything random is probably not worth relying on in the current state.

So if you use passive blocks or the block spell, I would personally say drop them as they are of no use. We need more spells like precise block, i.e. absolute rather than random (Or a fix in the RNG, which I believe is in NGD's to-do list).
