Dispel can be casted on yourself, its described on the spell info "when you not choose a target it will casted on yourself". Its not a bug at all. The spell its bugged and if you like to dispell your own buffs (its not what the spell have to do) its your problem.
Talking of protection dome, i dont see nowhere why it makes you so slow but it does, ngd didn´t say nothing about that but i think 50% skill resistance in area 10 its just too much for a spell, this spell needs a bad side it cant be so good. |

Didn't know about self dispelling, guess you learn everyday . It makes of it a very powerful spell, esp. once debugged (like removing beetle swarm, slow, or other non dizzying/darkness/confuse effects), but no Warlock is gonna raise Enchantments for it .
Regarding Protection Dome, I feel like because of the speed penalty (which is good because otherwise it would make the spell too powerful) and that Dispell/Sanctuary are 99% conjurer spells (very few Warlocks have Enchantments, few Conjs too), Protection Dome is a disguised Conjurer spell in a Mage Discipline. There are Warlocks who use Staff Mastery for Mana Comm or buffs, but they can't cancel Protection Dome (and I think using the log out thingy to remove buffs is an exploit). Anyway this is an awesome spell, but for Conjurers . |

Ah, the logout thing is an exploit? Guess I'll report it, even if it already has been reported. Dunno, I like being able to cancel my own Enchantments somehow.
If the logout thing is an Exploit, and the current Dispel isn't really supposed to remove your own Positive Effects if casted on yourself, then there is no way to remove your own Enchantments. There is also no way to cancel your own casts midway through. Dunno, I really like one or the other or both, since it allows flexibility when you make a mistake, bad judgment call, or your enemy or Ally does something unexpected, which leaves you stuck there midway casting or you may be stuck with a Buff giving you -10% movement or something like with Prot Dome. |

Personally, I'd rather NGD fix Dispel first. I don't think it's supposed to remove all negative and positive effects on the target. It's just a side-effect of the currently bugged Dispel that you can remove your own Enchantments (including Prot Dome and Summons).
I agree though that the Logout thing isn't an intended mechanic of the gameplay so it should be considered an Exploit. I think it's a pretty minor exploit though, since the only real use for it would be to remove stuff like Caution and Protection Dome, but using it also means that you sacrifice all other buffs on you at the time (Regenerate, Barrier, etc). |

As of now dispell does just that. But cancelling positive buffs will also make it an annoyance for other players. I'd rather have it cancel negative buffs only so I can use it to other players without compromising their AoO or other really important buffs.
