You should've started your own thread to ask the question, or better yet, search the forums for pets/summons. But since you didn't know it was called pet/summon so maybe a new thread would've been acceptable.

To get pets, you must be a hunter. There's a thread in the beginner's section that tells you how to get one.

To get summons, you must be a conjurer. It's simply a matter or casting a spell to summon a... well, a summon.

For either classes, you'll have to at least be lvl10 of course.
