Nobody ask to bann peoples, just if NGD can make them solution to change name like the guy with "Pussy lover". How about some respect for girls?

I think any kind of censorship would only make other people complain about their freedom...
if it was possible, I would force everyone to read at least one fantasy book, to think about the fact that char represents themselves (because it's the matter of RPG) and so does its name....nobody can want to have a stupid name like the mentioned ones in real life, so how can they let others call them "The Fucker" etc in the game? I spend like an hour finding a good name each time I want to create a new char in any RPG game and when I see somebody named "sldfkhasg" I simply don't waste my time speaking, helping, partying with him... (sorry for my english, I'm trying to do my best ![]() |

I've literally spend days online finding the perfect name for a character. Investigating the native language of said race etc. In the end I found it to not be worth my time. So I stick with easier names, like mine.

Why bother with censorship in character names, when the media screws up kids much more and theres nothing you can do about that?
I played with 13-year olds on this game who said more bad words in an hour than I say in a week ![]() I'd say: leave it uncensored and ignore people with bad names. Put in censorship and they will search for way to have a crappy name anyway (e.g. f|_|ck or using '@' in stead of 'a'). Ignoring those with lousy names or telling them they need to change their name and then ignoring them, will have a better effect. The silent treatment this would be called. It only affects the people with bad manners.

Yup I have been in a party ( very briefly ) with some kids who seemed to think that every second word had to be a swearword of some sort. I have also been told that I am too old to play this game. As for the names... censorship won't work because as has been pointed out there is always a way round it.
I like playing Regnum, refuse to be put off by kids with nothing between their ears but fluff. That is not all of them though, there are youngsters out there who just quietly get on with playing and enjoying the battles. ![]() We have several in our clan who make us 'oldies' very proud to know them. If you leave then the idiots win. Happy Arrows |

How about this being the compromise of the pro and anti censorship camps:
Make the censorship client side so that the output is parsed on your machine so it doesn't annoy anyone else. Now that will work for anyone that just doesn't want to look at traditionally censored words. Now locking the option from children is another matter, considering if one is hellbent on enabling censored words will just open another account. |
