Well I don't see the problem. I think that in this game, the "gelf", "goats", "iggies/tomatoes" words are just used in a friendly way, short to write and sound funny.
I just don't like being called gelf because I'm alturian in game.

I even think that half of people don't even know what gelf really means and just use it as a shortcut to design Syrtis people. Same for the goats and the tomatoes and whatever...

Remember that it's a game damnit

i refer to syrtis as gelfs because its a laughable way to insult the other realm. but dont worry, i dont call them gelfs that often. after a bit to drink and being farmed for 4 hours, i usually switch to "bastards", "assholes", or "douchebags".

remember, its just a game, dont take it too seriously, then it just defeats the purpose of it being a game.

Huh, I always thought gelf (as a name for Syrtis chars) was short for green elf, as opposed to the red (dark) elves in Ignis and was amused by the (inadvertent, I thought) Red Dwarf reference.

I usually just use reds and greens because they're easier to type with the left hand.

I guess I gotta read Regnum Urban Dictionary more often.

Also, to mr_scsi, for Ignis I have heard tomatoes, but never tampons. Ick!

gelfs, goats, pignis... who cares? This is a game, nobody should take it so seriously anyway... Mind you, Regnum is mostly played by kids (well, everything below 20 is a kid, from a personal perspective). I do not mind if players from Alsius and Ignis call us gelves. It will just motivate me to be more precise next time I see them in fight, and put few more arrows into them.

If you see something you do not like - ignore that person, and continue playing. By doing so you will save your nerves and your time.

These are my thoughts exactly. The words don't bother me; the person using them is the one you ought to be concerned with.
