I don't know if the reverse applies, but whenever I hear some kind of name in Spanish it just sounds so much more dramatic than the English version.
A not-that-great-but-nonetheless-amusing example: http://community.livejournal.com/pearlswine/274130.html |

What do you mean by "much more dramatic"?
It's commonly accepted by us that for instance, spell and monster names sound much cooler in english than in spanish. Which leads me to the same conclusion as you, maybe it's something that happens with all the languages, maybe it's because of the "rareness" of the phrase. Regards

sometimes the grammar does the work-
just compare soul reaper /segador de almas english = cooler spanish = naaaah s*it, too complex.

Common translation
Hi
It could actually be nice to have a basic translation post between spanish and english, RO oriented of course. I don't speak spanish too well, and sometimes I just can't express myself to talk to people in my party. As the non-spanish community is growing (and the French one too, we're working on that :P), it might come in handy for newbies. If someone's skilled enough in both languages to do something like that, this would be awesome. BTW, French, English & German here (and a few words of spanish). |
