As you all can see, this thread will also probably stay unanswered.
Why? It is a mystery to me. From my point of view NGD has many times reacted to less relevant threads in the past. We all can only hope that this case is only because they dont want to spoil a big suprise they got hidden for us.

I played RO back in 2008 and quit because of the lack of features that most modern MMORPG's had at the time (plus the daily grind got to me). During my time playing, I helped to add a mule feature to Regnum Helper which would capture all equipment from a character's item menu, save a screenshot, parse out the name, and then upload it to a server. Client's could then view the contents of the mule saved on the server.
The problem with the system is that someone needs to manually log into their guild mule account and activate the program. There is no automation when it comes to getting items from the guild mule, so someone manually needs to do that. Of course this is still the problem today. Why a second account for mule duties is problematic for the RO guilds * Someone has to take time away from playing RO to log into mule account to facilitate trading * Clan members have to ask another clan member for viewing, depositing, and retrieving items from clan mule * If no clan member that has access to mule is online, everyone else in the clan is unable to access clan mule * Clan mules violate TOS NGD implemented a character stash and an account stash. These are great features that were added. It seems to me that the stash system could be extended to guilds. I would even think making guilds pay xim for guild stash would be reasonable and would be a big incentive for NGD for implementing the system (in order to access your guild's stash, you have to pay a 1 time xim fee). As for the auction house, I think this is also a feature that is needed. The commerce chat is inefficient. Problems with the current method of selling/trading items: * Players have to use the commerce chat when trading * Commerce chat is real time so its only useful if any potential "buyer" or "seller" is on the chat at the same time * Players have to travel to the same location in order to trade Problems with an auction house * Expose inefficiencies in network code * Creates a real economy (which means NGD losses control over the prices of items) * Requires a lot more work to implement I also think having clan houses/castles would be awesome but that's unrealistic at this point. |
