Hey. I know you're still somewhere in your low 40's so your setup is gona grow in time. Its looking good so far. I would put as 4-5 points into acrobatics and get son of the wind (2 or 3) once your able to get your evasion to 19. SoTW has a horrible success rate but most mages are reluctant to attack you while the animation is running so its more of a bluff skill to honest.
Don't listen to whoever said Shield Piercing is bad because it isn't as bad as it used to be. Its a nice piggy-back skill on a short cooldown and the damage is decent irrespective of how bad your gear might be. Also put some points into specialist when they become available to you if you think you need a slight damage boost. Put a point into dirty fighting and see if it suits your play style. The damage boost is nice when used with cold blood. If you think you need to, put another 2 points into confuse because it really is your win button especially when surprising an enemy. I haven't played my hunter in a while so some of my advice might be off |

Shrouded.
ive seen you round also, you are learning fast, and doing great job.Listen to Zas aka annavilya, shes one of the smartest hunters horus has,she dont rely on uber resist rate like her realm mates, she uses cunning and brains, shes very killable...if you can catch her! As for you your skill set up,id be more inclined to focus first on scouting, then evasion trees, use camou/stalker,and in evasion, use son of the wind, acrobatic and evasive tactics. cast evasive tactics constantly as your running around buff, like tracking, never stop casting it.then you only need to cast acrobatic when you see aca.the casting of 2 defensive buffs when you see aca..can mean your death,as a hunter you need to be fast and smarter than your opponant! also when attacking an enemy, keeping control of the fight,is paramount.getting the first confuse in,is a big step towards winning(sad to say),knowing when to use a knock or stun, and learning to identify what spells your opponant has cast so that you make better choices,is very important skill many hunters never learn! as they said earlier, play play play, and dont always take what others tell you as fact, try new spells, experiment with them, see what fits your style, ask your realm mates for advice.there are always spells that all hunters will use in common, but there is still room for a wee bit of variation among hunters left to us!( wink wink NGD) Lastly, dont give up on hunter class, its hard, its even impossible at low lvls on horus, but in time, you will do 15 damage from a normal hit on a fully buffed syrtis hunter!!..what joy is that huh,i bet you cant wait!!(sarcasm) ill be sure to keep an eye on you anyways, ive got prolly the biggest stash of magical/epic bows in alsius, ill fix you up with items where i can! |

+1 to this, and adding that its not better even as marks. Yesterday, with lvl47 marks, I was hitting alone marskman who was challenging to me and buffed with strategic position and acrobatics for 10 normals. Not even funny, cause he was hitting me for 400, while I was buffed too (my strategic position on 3, evasive+actrobatics on 4), but without OP armor bought at NPC (180+5 armor, normal pierce resist). It's this system how armor and level difference works, one just can't enjoy playing archer till you are high enough, till you get OP bows and till you get super uber armor with lots of +11 and very good pierce resists and till you are like 60. And before you get 60, you get tired of your super uber low hits, as I did. Not sure if i want to play my marks and hunter anymore, because I don't like spending my time grinding. Maybe I should've made another class where I don't need normals, such as conju, but even that requires you grind to like lvl50 to be able to heal and survive long enough to cast few heals before you get 2 hitted from barb fom 2.4k normals or one hitted for 4.2k by beast attack or mind squashed.

Really? I laughed myself silly.
You don't know funny until you've been feathered by 400-500s with 650 criticals from a range 20 beyond your furthest spells without even a single effective defensive buff to counter. The plight of the frustrated warlock is never heard. /emo

You can also have good moments as a hunter lvl 40 with solo captures :
- use stalker surroundings and camouflage at higher level possible (with both at lvl 5, you can be invisible 24/7 except during the time you cast the spell) - When the fort you're inside is close to be captured bye ennemies, cast 1 of your camo spells, hide in a discreet place and wait all ennermies to leave the fort before capture back. - with some luck, you will be able to kill afkers or surprised people with the help of your guards after capture. - If ennemies upgrade the fort with a Guard Captain, or if they know that you're inside, just jump the wall at the correct place and escape like a true ninja. - If you leave an upgraded fort, return with your realm mates as soon as possible (when the ennemy zerg is in another place) to get the reward for your efforts :angel2

Thanks for all the posts btw ^^ i've been trying shortbow recently, and found out that its not so good for any group fights, only solo hunting , correct? :P and thanks for the advice to use DF its very good for this solo hunt, i was doing 400 normals with 700 ensnares under CB ^^ as for the defensive spells they do cost alot of mana to use and i find myself with half my mana bar out which isnt really desirable however the current problems i have now i think, are with my levels and perhaps the range limitations i have. (need to get myself a decent range 35 bow) Th |
