ROFL.
Somebody blew a fuse. ( could be still smouldering over getting the random login idea stood down by Adrian ) Anyway... I logged in and made a few observations. That is : 1. Nothing much has changed. Personnel has changed a bit or, it could be what it always was. That is, players rolled other characters. I don't see any dramatic increase in population. It is not dramatically less either. By nothing changing, I mean that the numbers are generally the same, there is rotation of fortunes depending on the time zone you decide to play in and the quality of game play depends on who your allies and opponents are in any particular skirmish. Thus all the arguments above outline the same issues we always had. Population flux and realm dominance rotation both over the long and short term continues to have its impacts. If I were to weigh in on the Fotomay/ Awrath discourse, I would say they are both right , to a point. Essentially the realms are all the same on a basic mechanic level. Yes, terrain and races are different but if you remove the cosmetics, they are the same. Here is where it gets a bit tricky. I suppose I will have to put it this way. A realm's character is the sum total of its inhabitants. Anybody who would like to quantify that considering the diversity of humanity, be my guest. I certainly can't do it with any surety. I can give an opinion though. Fotomay may not be all that wrong . In my opinion, the character of each realm was distinctly different. Back in the day. Those differences are not quite as stark now. Right now, we have a mingling and a dilution of populations of each realm. As such we see the distinct culture lines of the past becoming blurred and each realm becoming more generic, carbon copies of each other from a social perspective. Cross realm defections, multi realming and also new, less committed player base each have their parts to play. Finally, because of the haemorrhage of long time players, we see the loss of culture transference. No old players to keep the methodologies of the past. I think this is what Awrath and others allude. What we see are new realms emerging. Unfortunately, this emergence has led to a constant weakening of the social fabric of each realm with each new iteration becoming more runt-like and disconnected. This trend is one that cannot be reversed easily and actually has been accelerated by decisions of the company. What was once a vibrant and socially diverse game is slowly becoming eroded to mediocrity from a social perspective. So while I do agree with Fotomay that there were differences, nowadays it is increasingly difficult to detect. |

Closest to 'working together' is sometimes goats will back off and let the pigs and Galahads fight it out. |

It's just that ignis loves more to alsius than syrtis so they always prefer teaming up with alsius tho alsius have many people on all the time of the day ! when syrtis takes up Meni, goats always work with ignis & when gelfs r cleared they cap Meni cleverly :P

In some point every realm work with some other one. I agree if they team up against the stronger one to keep the balance, but seing alliances happen to bash the weaker ones is sad.
Anyway it is a game, so peace and have fun.

I have no idea what server you guys are talking about but I am talking about Haven.
Anyway, I see many times gelfs and pigs fighting side by side trying to stop goats from getting a last relic or one realm taking the outside of gates while the other defends them from inside...after the goats are cleared then they turn on one another. At Meni, well Meni is close to goat CS so when we are bored sometimes we will go Meni just to get into a three way fight for laughs. Perhaps it seems to some gelfs it is two against one because gelfs are easy to kill and typically wipe faster than the pigs do. But trust me, Ignis and Alsius are fighting each other at the same time we are fighting the weakest link. |

You are at meni sometimes...pff it is your graze place. Usually we fight at meni or at PN. Seing you at gelf forts is a miracle! Not that this is bad - i have loads more fun compared to when i was in greenlands. I really enjoy open ones.
I wanted not to write this, but a day ago your realmmates let some ignis fight in your zerg against syrtis at eferias. Noyone touched them not killed them. What you call this? I raised a question in realm and got different answers - one of them was 'go back to syrtis'... It was stupid of me to raise this in realm, but i felt interested what i will see. How i saw that - i went to my old chars trying to help as there was no action that time. Ye sometimes i multirealm if i see goats do invasions in the morning - i know i will see 20 vs max 10(most middle or low levels) at there. Things are not ideal, different people play and they act as they want to.

Three realms. The design will always allow for 2 versus 1 and alliances of some form or fashion. 1v1v1 rarely happens in real life so why should it happen here? People will form alliances they think are most beneficial to them. It is war so those alliances can change from moment to moment.
I just don't see why people get so wound up in that and which sides form alliances and how they form them. Seriously, who cares? It's just a game. Personally, I find all threads like that ridiculous. Play the game. If you can't handle what is going on, GTFO or go play something else. That formula worked for me really well. |

Some of you guys are really misunderstanding the term teaming up.
In some cases a group of people(realm) will help the other realm in order to benefit themselves. If Ignis is at aggy, and Syrtis has Imp and Trelle relic, it's only logical to help us get relic because the timer is almost done already, in return they will try and steal the relic from us when the time is right. Krungle, you should really stop typing on this forum if you really believe Alsius has never teamed with any other realm. Right around the purple fever event I'd literally go to Aggy and help goats get rid of the Syrtis zerg, and no one would touch me(Besides Syrtis ofc). The same with Alsius coming to Samal to help Ignis rid of Syrtis at samal. |

The alliance I see most often is pigoats, not that I am complaining, it was surely needed at some points but it's sad when I see this alliance fight gelfs when they are at their low point. Syrtis has had it's fair share of alliances too (every realm has) but I have noticed that we don't keep said alliances long because some gelfs just want RP.
