Example of a Aquantis (since they hit hard and fast). You'd get hit from pet for 400-500 and the hunter dealing damage as well. I'd hate to see people stop using pets just because you can't get your goblin (which die REALLY fast)...try a higher level attacking beast - just try.
yea me and this dude right here have been having some brawls lately, and I must say that it is really fun seeing the pets battling it out. I like the sabertooth/daggerfang combo, but that is just me. I do say that I miss my ghost necromancer, and really don't know why hunters can't have ranged pets if conjurers can too. It really doesn't make much sense

they dont have time to cast it when i come. in seconds the pet is dead.. anyhow... that skill may intimidate you buts its lame...

secondly i do not use the goblin shaman...

im pure shortbow.. i dont use pets... but i am sayig this is not right...

and about the aquantis once its a pet the hit prob and miss prob is altered a lvl 20 can kill it... and I can kill it in 3 hits... less than 5 seconds.. go do some tests then come back with more ammo against my topic..

finally when im out to kill someone they dont see me until i am spitting on their face... then since it takes time to click and react.. they are below 50% hp the fight is over

finally if the hunter has tricks + pets in a high order combo he is weak in speed or skill damage... so i can do 1 of 2 things...
a) hide and torment him until he dies
b) run and get away with ease...

(SOMEONE SAID GOBLIN SHAMANS WERE NEVER SUPPOSED TO BE TAMABLE <this is not true> Goblins are goblins and there is a specific skill that they fit in for tamable creatures)
i see a little detail missing in your example, warlocks can't have summons so they can't have zarkits. Conjuers can and that was ehat you killed if she/he had a zarkit. Or am i totally wrong eith that?

I think same about goblins, they are living creatures and they should be tameable, with those ghost wich were tameable before i think they should be untameable cause they are DEAD.

And i see a HUGE difference about hunters pets and cunjuers summons. Well pets are pets as they are in real life, living real (non-magical) creatures, and summons they are creatures not real ones as pets magical so they can be also undeads like ghost or skeleton. So when pets are real living things what "god" has made so it's pretty natural that thei are non-ranged and summons created by mage just plain magic so they can be both.

And other things too, hunters are pretty good at attacking too and track so they need only help of the pet, but when we look conjuers, they are healers and supporters and can't do much dmg so they need their summon for bodyguard guarding themselves when they heal people.

my friend your comments are not valid...

First warlock can steal a summoners pet.. zarkit included...
and goblins are real life creatures not summons in the game and should be tamable....

as to goblin shamans they are the same as goblin so same tamable lines <THEY ARE BEING DELETED/ALTERED? to non range>

About god making them and stuff... there is no god in regnum... there is no god period... the thing that makes the goblin shaman shoot magic bolts is its staff... just like the standard mage. the staff is magical not the goblin..

You talk about ghosts... I don't care for ghosts... thats not teh point at hand...

All I can say is you do not know much about regnum... put in the hours then come back and talk to me...

I think if hunter's pets were able to be camouflaged as was stated in the hunter development thread, it would go some way towards balancing this.

I personally think hunters without pets are more dangerous and versitaille...because they're so much harder to kill or catch.

Plus the pet is a dead give away that there's a hunter nearby in many cases. The single greatest edge the hunter enjoys is surprise, and sadly, pets often take that critical advantadge away.

You can be just as deadly with a pet than without. I have tried both setups and know the plus and minus to both. You can have full speed with a pet, but you sacrifice some damage which your pet makes up for. With a pet you fighting style is very different. So, I would not bash pets until you tried them.

I've played extensively with and without pets. I only have the one character afterall, so i occassionally switch up my config to "keep things fresh". I used pets as i leveled up, and i used them for a bit in WZ as i gained each new level to compare the merits of with/without. For most of my time in regnum pets were terribly bugged, so i didnt use them almost by default. Getting lost, getting stuck, not attacking, drowning when i crossed bridges, etc, etc. I did try them again after the last set of updates, and i still prefer without. when i did use pets, i vastly preferred small hard to spot ranged pets. Even if i was going to use a pet, it would only be a goblin shaman. And i cant get my other skills where i want them to be using one, so i dont use one. Plus, pets are not very useful in fort battles. My reasons are really quite simple, and numerous.

I dont begrudge anyone that prefers them, i just think i'm more dangerous in a non-pet config.
