I've learned a lot from my first thread, and I'll be more cautious about the title now. (The title's probably the most important thing people read )

So yeah. :]
You should have left your original post and added the rest below.

Clearly YOU think RP means something as your main attack is will domain + staff matery.

Most mages that skill for Mental + SM will stand a pretty good chance of killing their oponent and getting high RP, even after the recent SM nerf. However.... It sucks. There is no skill involved and it is boring. You may be high up in the RP rankings, but other players will point at you and laugh when you kill them.

I'd sooner be (lol... and am) a crap mage who plays crap, that doesn't use SM and gets fewer RP as a result, than someone who uses a high level knock on their oponent and kills them with SM hits before they get a chance to stand up and fight back. It's not skillfull. Its just RP whoring.

Can you honestly say you get a "buzz" from the way you fight? The most exciting fights for me are when they're really close, I have to use a wide variety of spells and the fight is evenly matched.

With regards to your original post that you deleted: In the unlikely event that I get a chance to chase someone to, or run past their save and kill them, I will. Even if it means losing 20 RP and I would EXPECT and WANT other players to do the same to me.

The fun is in the FIGHT not the SCORE.

I would suggest you take note of Foamy's opinion about "achievements", that I also share (NSFW):

RP means nothing.

Poor Trist, his first post gets attacked so badly after all he wanted to do was show something funny.

Dude don't take this stuff seriously

Abusing game mechanics is funny? Odd sense of humor, maybe the next thread should be about speed hacking

Sorry but abusing game mechanics is only where one player stands to gain an advantage over other players in an unfair fashion. This is nothing like speed hacking. He isn't going around slaughtering everyone and disappearing. Tristaan gained nothing by logging in and out, he was merely wondering how far someone would go to catch him. This thread is nothing bad but people always seem to find a way to turn in into just that.

Prolonging your character's life by abusing log-in dizzy is gaining an advantage over other players. That's like saying speed hacking isn't abuse if you only use it to run away, because you think it's funny to see how long people will follow you for.

How isn't it abuse? No matter what was intended the mechanics were still manipulated. Isn't it abusing when a player glitches into a fort to capture it, even if its empty?

Just because you didn't 'win' because of it doesn't mean that it isn't using a poor game design to get a result that isn't intended. You technically agree NOT to do this every time you log into the game.

It is not an advantage because you cannot gain anything from doing this, according to what trist did anyways. Being immune from everyone from logging in is not an advantage, it gives you nothing special you can abuse other players with. there is no benefit to being immune from save dizzy, therefor, this is not exploiting anything. Speed hacking gives you the ability to run insanely fast and attack people at the same time or do many other cheating thinds. If some player kept relogging for fun just to see how long someone would wait to kill him, that is the other players fault for waiting for the person to stop relogging.

@ torin, you agree not to abuse bugs or exploits that give you an unfair advantage over players.: relogging does not match any of these qualifications for cheating. You can relog 1 million times yet you don't gain anything (in reality you just waste time). You cannot attack and do anything beside move for like 15 seconds. What is cheating about this? (I myself never did this, but I am very curious why people think this is abusing game mechanics)

Really what I think is if someone does this they are just playing around, and this has no negative effects on any other player, therefore is not cheating in any way.

Of course it is an exploit. The normal behaviour is that the logout timer resets if you try to logout while surrounded by other players hitting you. If someone uses a bad game design to avoid the timer reset he is exploiting/cheating, call it whatever you like.

He wasn't just relogging, he was logging on and running away, then relogging so he could run further without being killed. Delaying his death is enough of an advantage to be considered abuse... not to mention his screenshots showed them talking in clan chat about him leading the gelfs that were chasing him to a goat zerg.

Ah I see. Well, that's even more worse. And that's nothing about fun, I agree with you.
