I like to win. So sue me.
When i first started playing and alsius and ignis crushed syrtis everynight with overwhelming numbers at Herbred, did i come into the forums and whine that it 'wasn't fair'? Nope, i built a huge clan that, together with the efforts of all our Syrtian allies, has turned the tide. All of a sudden fighting in lopsided fights is no fun anymore, eh? As if i don't die at times when im alone or with 1-2 others and get steamrolled by a large ignis or alsius hunting party. Seriously, enjoy the taste of your own medicine enemies of syrtis. It's only going to get worse. >:} |

Anyone has his fun where he wants; I have some respect to Getulio as a player, I'm sad when he runs away with onslaught when an even fight is coming though because I enjoy fighting against him... Once we ran after him & a hunter from samal market, to menirah, to pb (using teleport) and finally IN SYRTIS he accepted to come to fight us because he had reinforcements (Emma & gusano) (and we won, so maybe he was right to run hehe). And he's someone who knows the game very well, I doubt that he doesn't have unlimited mana either and he doesn't *always* run; he lured me many times, he also jumped me many times with a DECENTLY SIZED party (with Debian(sarge|etch) & someone else) and sometimes I win sometimes I lose. That's why I think he likes challenge; I saw him in Alsius hunting with only Debianetch and we 2vs2'd them with Sathilda (well they died that time ). So I'm just saying that in *HIS* place I'd have more fun without a group that large. Of course there are big Ignis hunting parties, but know what, and ask Alsius: who started the big hunting parties? Syrtis. They are the one Ignis is copying, I don't find participating to those funny myself so I don't go... I said it, no challenge. Now I do reckon you play your character with some skill (and especially a good conjurer team behind you), but I don't have any respect towards you as a player, because you're just a Rp hungry beast. You see yourself as a soldier (or general, whatever) of the US army, I prefer being a more romanesque version like in the 3 Mousquetaires or the Round Table chronicles; someone said once here that Sun Zi wrote in the Art of War that for "assured victory, you have to outnumber your enemy greatly", well of course this is true; but who is most famous, a general who crushed his enemies with 10 times the manpower, or Miyamoto Musashi who single-handedly killed 70 Yoshioka samurais in one night? Who has earned most respect? The one who won the unwinnable battle, or the greatest killer & "Rp farmer" of all mankind? I do use strategy, but I have no fun when there is no challenge. I try to find a balance. Hopefully, you have gotten my point. Don't worry, I got yours. PS: btw I'm happy that Syrtis has gotten better in fort wars, this is true. As of attributing the credit to you, I don't know. In what kind of flawed logic should I be disappointed that you're getting better? It's a good thing for everyone, more fun if battles more challenging and in the end it will make Ignis better when we reach a better level of teamplay Last edited by magnet; 10-22-2007 at 12:45 PM. |

They should win a prize, as well.... one meteor, delivered directly to the person's skull from orbit, by a trained warlock Or the eternal hatred thing.... but i prefer the idea of frying them, then forgiving them... less hatred that way, and more peace and quiet afterwards on the forums. Any other ideas of rewarding those *valient* warriors? Do tell.

Also, if you're always in a huge group, you never get better. Simple as. It's the sticky situations and fights against the odds that really make you a better player. However, sometimes it can be kinda hard to stop all the hangers on when you go hunting. When you're a respected high lvl player, people kinda follow you around and ask to be partied and you know... its kinda rude to turn people down as they just wanna have fun too. FWIW every realm does it. Mario of persia was with 15, mostly warlocks near our orc camp once. Nothing you can do with 3 MoDs and a sultar every 30 seconds really :\ ANd there is regulalry a group of like 9 ignis around jabeline nowadays. Same goes for fort fights. There's nothing more challenging that holding a fort with half a dozen people against like 20. Winning a fort where you outnumber the enemy 2:1 is no fun at all. It's the evenly matched ones, or the ones where you are outnumbered that are most fun to me. Strategy and formation doesn't really mean a shit until you get closer in numbers, and some of the formations people take up are just painful to watch. Really this game needs something to do between hunting and fort wars - I still like the idea of little defensive structures near the bridges. But that's antoehr thread What is your charactor name magnet? Maybe we should have a group fight PvP |

You said it, everyone follows "famous" players, that's the problem. Mario more than anyone else in Ignis I guess . But he prefers fort holding if he can trust the players he's with and doesn't always do it either, two days ago I hunted in Syrtis with only Mario and Acido (Nazgul's warlock). 3 warlocks hunt, we killed groups up to 8 people (including a big Alsius hunting party we took by surprise at Algaros haha ).
And enable your PMs . |
