Lets talk about average players I would bet my house that a Average horus player is better then a Raven player.

How is he better then Hepha?
The average Horus player better than the average Raven player? It's arguable. There is a much bigger population on Horus than on Raven. But all the average horus players knows is to click on WM banners. So I would go with the average Raven player tbh.

How is not is the better question. There is nothing that shows Heph being better. Heph only plays one class, Van plays several and is good/great on all of them.

Yea, thats why he, as a lvl 60 hunter with OP gear, did it to my lvl 54 marks with all armor bad/v bad to pierce.

Then when he lost he tried to claim I did an unfair pvp because he wasn't ready but he buffed and started running at me and continued to fight after I hit him. If he wasn't ready he should have stopped and I would have stopped.
He is a cocky dumbass that thinks he is the greatest hunter ever and nobody could beat him. Underestimated me and got anally raped and then came to cry about it on here.

Sore loser ftw. He isn't that good. Any hunter can use confuse 5 on an unbuffed player and kite them. He has done 0 things to show he is good. I know you are his butt buddy but, get off his dick

Edit: Also, I know that he recorded it so that if he won he could come on here and brag. I like how he wouldn't post the video for everyone to see. And if he did show me the link.

In that sense, yes, it is useful. I do agree about situation awareness, positioning and timing however, my shield bash after knock was perfected in PvP.

I wouldn't say it's perfect for training your mechanics, but it certainly would help with understanding the classes, I agree. At the end of the day however, a PvP setup will differ from an RvR setup. PvP setups in most cases would not include ally/area buffs or support spells for example, or area attacks (except maybe lightning arrow/caltrops).

Perhaps I worded it wrong, but my point was regarding people who have egos over PvP, of course if you set yourself up for PvP, catch people unaware, catch people grinding or whatever, it's quite obvious you already have the upper hand. In this sense, PvP proves nothing, unless the primary focus of this game was PvP. Because the primary focus is RvR, majority of people are set up for fort wars or large battles.

Yea, your standards are, If they show a little bit of skill or are good, they must be a god and nobody could ever beat them...ever ever ever ever

My standards are realistic, if they are good they are good, but they can be beaten and there are players better.

I don't need to. It is a waste of time.
Here are some videos of people that thought they could beat me

Problem?

You never answered me as to why he never uploaded the video. He claimed I cheated and had the video but wouldn't upload it as proof, I wonder why

Fully agree.

Kinda same topic:

IMHO:
Theres no consistent 1v1 balance. It greatly varies between classes, configurations, settings. Set up PvP allows you to try out your general config in various set up situations.
I.E. it allows you to develop tactics *for your build and for a similar situation in war*, teaches you to automate actions and reactions so you can concentrate better for other thoughts, be it broader tactical decisions, watching surroundings and allies actions and make on-the-fly adjustments.

Its a sandbox and it can be big fun when you do it with friends who grasp this. When you discuss and give tips helping eachother to understand better and develop. By pointing out flaws you can learn to get around them, by pointing out particular strengths you can learn to not let them happen on your opponent side.

Its kind of like sparring in boxing. For me it loses its use when you make it "competitive". It doesnt work out to be fun with people who grow their ego on that. They totally miss the point.

I miss skipio for that matter. That awesome fun barb who i had endless pvp on amun at some point, back when it was quite a task to 100% win vs em as marks with mediocre gear. These friendly PvP made me a better player - not a PvPer, because it allowd me to understand the small scale to embed into the big scale of usual RvR and class interaction. The whole metagame you start to see once you know evry move of evry class for its own, which allows you to find the better RvR config for your needs and develop broader scale tactics all started for me in friendly and constructive set up PvP.

So in this spirit - go PvP as much as you can - but only with the right people as its really not fun with the wrong ones and not really helpful either.

you guys are talking like pvp is so easy and if u have a warlock you would own everybody? also why does ppl tend to think i don't play fort war? it's just that i might have a different timezone than u guys.

exactly what personal quality of Van as a warlock makes him a better player than me? from looking at your responses you don't even know me and all of you mainly play Raven Ignis now. anyway, here is a RvR video of me from a month ago.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1es2SM2fWNg

my setup works both in RvR and PvP with more emphasis on the PvR side cuz i hunt a lot when there is not lot of ppl online. maybe i lacked the so called situational awareness... see for urself.

and who the hell started this post...this topic tend to get out of hand. most ppl are just jealous cuz they can't do what other ppl do and i have learned to grow a thick skin for critisism hehe just realized ive been talking to the walls for all these time wow

They're entitle to voice their opinion - and frequently do - just as long as it's out of sight and don't expect others to take them seriously, consideration is limited stock these days.

Why is it so important for some people to know who's pissing the furthest?
Why does every thread involving the same few people needs to turn into a ego buffing and mud throwing contest?

Can't you just put your respective ego's aside and stop to destroy every goddamn topic?

Can't you just play the game for the sake of the fun?

Really this useless lock-skillz-comparison trend is getting irritating, especially when based on personal and broken views of "skill"...

I think that PvP does show some quality in timing and how well you know the spells you use. Though I also think that a PvP is mostly luck. If Ambush has been resisted and in your tactics Ambush if the foundation... You are pretty much screwed.

Also I think PvP doesn't particullary has to mean that you buff before you engage, I think its a fair PvP if a Hunter comes from nowhere without the enemy did any buffs at all, since Hunter is able to do such things, why would Hunter engage a Marksman that is fully buffed anyways?

This topic doesn't make sense. Why everyone wants to PvP to show they are better than anyone else anyways. You know if you win, the other says he was lagging or something. Or then you say, again, and your opponent doesnt come. For me PvP is also the ability to fight in any condition.
