I see only one use of Spiritual Blow - Onslaught, Spring (total >+50% movement speed) and dismount a horse riding enemy ...lvl 1 does the work perfectly

Hello,

I'm new at the Forum, but I'm a old Gamer of the German Servers (Niflheim and Muspell). We havn't got a good Support in the Gamigo Forum (German Forum) and so I'm going to write/read these Forum =)

But back to Topic. I only have got a lvl 42 Barbarian (Twing) but I can play the Barbarian really good (I hope so ) and I know a lot about Barbarians, so I will show you my "Abilities" (if I'm 50):

Slashing Weapons 9
Athletic 1

Blunt Weapons 19
Brutal Impacts 5
Ribs Breaker 1
Lethal Anatomy 5
Mind Squasher 5

Thunder Strike 5

Piercing Weapons 19
Balestra 1

Martial Defence 1

Challenging Roar 1

Overwhelming Strength 5
Onslaught 5
Unstoppable Madness 1

Two Handed Mastery 11
Thirst For Blood 2

With this current setup you've got a good damage (my 42 Barbarin: normal hits, 1000-1200 with Onslaught, 1200-1400) and a "good" defense against physical damage. The one Problem of these current setup is the bad defense against magical damage (0% Defense against Magical damage).

It's realy Important that you cast the spells in this order:
First Lighting Strike than Brutal Impacts, if you take Brutal Impacts at first, it won't be there for the full time.

But test it yourself

Ive seen English people speak worse english :P

Nice looking setup, but does Brutal acctualy work? I heard it was broken.

Hello again,

For 2 minutes I've tested Brutal Impact, because I wasn't sure about the spell is/isn't broken. Here's the result of the test:



You see, the spell works right. With Brutal Impact my damage is 100damagepoints bigger than without the spell. I made 107dmg more with the Spell. Brutal Impact only take 75dmg, but there are normal dmg-variability (I hope that's the right word ) by the normal hits.

Result: Brutal Impact works right.

i have a very similar setup with my barb, im going to talk about the diferences...

Blunt

forcefull blow, 180-240 exrta damage, yeah! in your dreams XP the real amount of extra damage is lower, its like a paid critical hit, but 4 skills points in that skill, does it worth it? (im not sure about the last sentence XP)
let say that u kill an enemy in 5 hits, let say that in 5 hit u can cast forcefull twice; with forcefull or without it, you got to hit your enemy 5 times because the added damage is too low. that is how i see it.

lethal anatomy, does 10 points of STR worth 4 skill points? not for me...
10 points of STR gives like 30 points of DMG, in 5 hits is like 150 of DMG too expensive for me...

the rest is quite similar, but i dont have de passive defense...

Piercing

u have extra skills points i your setup? why dont u use balestra? or ripost? i have lvl 13 piercing and i use lvl 3 balestra and lvl 3 ripost; much more benefit that puting those points to lethal anatomy or forcefull.

besides that, when you are "on balestra" forcefull is useless, you dont have any skill to defend you or to attack in that situacion, only normal hits.

spring is the only reason that i keep my tactics in lvl 15. (u can use 3 of the points that u put in forcefull/lethal)

2 handed mastery

right now i dont have TFB cause im hunting too much, i have lvl 4 spiritual, the bad thing is that it takes too much mana =(
i have expansive wave, and i have beast attack lvl 4 its like a better forcefull blow, has a dizzy effect, and works with my spear too ;D

Warcries

frenzy lvl 1, the only skill that i miss =S

berserk lvl 5 very important in fortwars to improve area skills DMG

overwhelming strength 5
onslaught 5

and unstoppable madness lvl 4 (less points in this skill and it becomes useless =()

with two handed mastery lvl 9 u can have deafening roar, and those skill points in tactics gives you caution, at least in lvl 1, is better than nothing! and since you have a non-based on armour fisical damage defense, u can use the right armour (good or very good against fire and lightning) to improve your magical damage resistance.

I don't use Caution. Berserker + Caution arn't many armour, and only 120 Armour (lvl 42 Barbarian Berserk 5 + Caution 1 = 120 Armour) arn't as good as the cost. When I'm 50, I'll test ist, but I think the armour is to low. Also I don't buy any armour. I take my dropps with strange or damage, so I can push up my damage.

But ok, equal. Two Handed Mastery 11 oder Tactics 11. That's only the points wich left in my setup.
I test it sometimes.

Well, I never understood the reason behind putting points into either Balestra or Ribs Breaker.
To me, Trip is a better solution since your enemy can't do anything then.

My setup is based on normal hits + "piggybacks" with Forcefull Blow, Ribs Breaker (yes, I use it to get more damage faster, not only to immobilize people) and sometimes Mind Squasher.
So Forcefull Blow lvl 5 is important for me (around 1k+ damage/hit with Bless Weapon lvl 5).

I use Balestra sometimes to keep people from moving too much.
Rippost would not be an alternative since it has casting time, and if I would use it at all I would only use it at lvl 5 - which is not an option for me.
I want only instant skills in my setup, with short cooldowns, which also sorts out Beast Attack.

Before Brain Piercing was nerfed I used lvl 13 spears and Brain Piercing lvl 1.

I want passive 20% damage resistance in Blunt, it's like the best passive you can have.
With Frenzy and Material Wall lvl 5 (pretty usual for me, thanks conjurers ) I can have 70% resistance against piercing...
And add to this Lion Armor (Very Good against piercing) and Caution lvl 4.

That is almost like Army of One.

The only thing I've been thinking about changing in my setup, is to nerf the strength passive... or Trip... and put more points into Unstoppable Madness.
Time will tell.

Build Im testing atm:
Blunt 19
Forceful Blow 5 - quick, cheap and good attack.
Ribs Breaker 1 - immobilize
Lethal anatomy 5 - dmg boost
Mind squasher 5 - no comments needed

2h mastery
Thirst for blood 5 - generally highest damaging barbs skill? (speed + dmg bonus without fear of dizzy/mana drain)
Spiritual blow 5 - Im addicted to this skill
Deafening roar 5 - Yup, for many ppl this gonna be strange, but I just love this skill. Allowed me to win many x vs 1 battles, with good group organisation can be used both offensively and defensively (conju will be grateful if u stun 3 barbs attacking him)

Warcries 17
Frenzy 4 - good defensive skill
Onslaught 4 - barbs "must have" spell
Overwhelming strength 4 - Damage boost
Howl 1 - Area dizzy
Challenging roar - If I know I wont have mana problems

Tactics 15
Feint 4 - 2nd knockdown, after trip
Spring 4 - Because I like to be fast
Caution 4 - Useful, even after nerf
Trip 4 - Main knockdown

Piercing 9
Balestra 1 - immobolize
Versality 1 - dmg boost

Slashing 9
Disable limb 1 - useful against hunters
Athletic 1 - always +5 dex

This is hunting build, lacks of areas. When Im going fort war I usually drop Lethal Anatomy and take Expansive Wave.

I like this setup... but...
I kinda feel like if Onslaught lvl 4 is not acceptable

It's like assuming that warlocks have terror...
Barbarians have onslaught... lvl 5...

I would probably drop Spring in your case, and add it to Whirlwind.
And make the points from Defeaning Roar go to Thunder Strike...

Still, a nice, and unique setup
