Question Vote: Do you like the idea of location based servers ?

I am not sure about exact implementation of this, that would be least harmful, but it seems that long term benefits of having location (time-zone) based servers would resolve a lot of issues.

Pros?
  • More balanced population at given times (one time zone)
  • Less requirements for language specific personnel (i.e GM etc...)
  • Better ping, spells that cast 0.5s go to 0.7s with 200ms ping. Closer servers can contribute as little as 0.02s to cast time.
  • Possibly good long term effect ?

Cons?
  • Short term bad effect on current populations

I think it would be safe to assume that
  • Players would have a choice where they want to migrate
  • Most players speak English nowadays, except for some dinosaurs, it's basically a requirement for many jobs.

Cool

I've spoken my piece elsewhere already. I'm cool & down with this & very much want it. I think having one in EU, one in SA, & one in NA was & still is the very best of very good ideas.

On the other hand tho, if we just can't have this however, I'd much prefer an initial Valhalla/Haven merger at this time, rather than a Haven/Ra, or full-on Haven/Ra/Valhalla merger.

The idea is nice , but the main troble is that if make this on a underpopulated server , will split even more the base players of that server .

The costs of this servers are not low , and if you split the players there is a posibility that you will not be able to pay the hosting.
If you not cover the costs of the servers and make a minimal profit then the game it self will close.
