Unplayable

The lag has been so bad for me today that it has been unplayable.

Well done to all the enemies who killed me today whilst frozen with lag.

I'm annoyed at this but i suppose i would've done the same.

I'm frustrated i can't play the game.

I hope this bad patch passes soon.

I don't want to have to find another game to play.

Whinge over.

i noticed some medium-heavy spelllag
it was still playable just a bit annoying.

there were way worse times and in general i think the lag situation got a lot better the last weeks

Haven't played in the last 24 hours because of lag (ooooh, 24 hours! I gotta get a life :P). I either freeze and get disconnected or have 30 second spell lags.

Still, I have to admit it has been a very good cure against procrastination

Yes, this is how i was affected: most of the time i couldn't run a few metres without getting frozen.

The few times i managed to get somewhere, i froze in the middle of a fight.

I resorted to lvling my barb in Vinland and even that was a real pain.

Around midnight tho (GMT) my barb gradually froze less and less, and then not at all.

So finally after a full day of not warring i changed to my arch and had some decent fights.

Yeah I got killed by guards at the end of fort battle cause of the lag, hopefully for me there were conjurors to revive me.

Today i had another full day of freezing to the spot every few minutes.

It was fine this morning - but as soon as it started to get busier with more people logging on the freezing started.

I pressed Ctrl L and got the following messages in red writing:

- connection timeout downloading resource 55344. Retrying. Bytes received: 0, expected: 0

- connection timeout downloading resource 55344. Retrying. Bytes received: 12851, expected: 155677

I'm hopeless with computers.

Do these messages mean anything to anyone?

Could it be my internet connection?

It's a 4 meg connection.

It must be the system downloading resource number 55344...For example, it could be the textures for Studded Leather Armour. The first time, it couldn't download anything, so it retried. The second time, it downloaded the stated bytes.

Ah, so it maybe a particular resource causing the problem?

So if i knew which resource it was, say my hunter breastplate, i wonder if using a different breastplate would solve the problem.

Does this sound right, or am i way off?

If it suddenly keeps downloading but the download bar shows no progress esc->change characters. That's what I did then it downloaded again, unfortunately when you press cancel it'll go to character selection screen anyway.

I think the problem is caused by my internet connection.

As i mentioned, it is a 4 meg connection - but at certain times of the day the internet works slower for me (presumably, when more people are using it.)

At these times my gaming experience deteriorates.

I thought of getting a faster connection - but today i checked the max stregnth connection in the area i live.

It is 4 meg - which i have - so it seems i must continue to suffer this frustration.
