Default Marksman or Hunter?

Okay, so. I'm new to the game, and I'm not sure which to pick, hunter, or marksman.

I have a few questions, please feel free to answer them:
Which class is more rewarding?
Which is faster at leveling?
What are the pros and cons of each class?
What sort of animals can a hunter tame?
Are the pets useful in PvP?
Which has a higher damage output?
Which is more feared on the battlefield?
What are some special abilities of each class?

Please try to keep your answers as unbiased as possible. Thank you.

Okay.
So after searching I'm able to answer one question.
Marksman has the higher damage output.

Which class is more rewarding?
Which is faster at leveling?
What are the pros and cons of each class?
What sort of animals can a hunter tame?
Are the pets useful in PvP?
Which is more feared on the battlefield?

Are all still unanswered.

The most rewarding is the one who suits your style.
I think hunter and marks level at the same speed. Hunters alone with pets seem faster to me and Marks with mana support faster.
Pros of Marks : Nice defense, some speed, lot of damages, can really help a quick death with Death Sentence.
Cons of Marks : Vulnerable with no but, soon out of mana, not enough speed to hunt alone.
Pros of Hunters : Speed, Invisibility, Pet (? I like playing with petless players), surviving extreme situations (there is second line, front line, front ennemy line and Valorius line ), Independant
Cons of Hunters : not so much dmg in fort war.
Animals : Everything around the same level (if enought points spent on it) except what conj can summon.
Pets : I think you can be a great player without pet.
Fearable : If you're a conj, fear both On fort battles, fear marks. When you're lvling alone in warzone, fear hunters.

Hunters are for hunts, marks for fort battle. Depend on what you like the most. (But I think I'm not so bad as a hunt buddie when I have a hunter with me )

Actually, I hunt a lot solo. I've learned most of the leveling spots in both enemy realms and my range usually can make up for the lack of speed, meaning I can usually catch people that try to run away from me. But I cannot run away from a hunter, or a group of enemies that have a barb with them.

I'm lvling a hunter on Horus now that my marksman on ra is almost 50, I think both classes can be very fun.

btw, a marksman with a conju giving him mana constantly can level faster than anyone I think

Ok. I've decided on Hunter as the class I am going to go.
What should I put my stat points into, and what is a good starting stats?

Best starting stats would be dex (increases base damage), then int (more mana, faster mana regeneration. Hunters depend on smart mana management to some excent) and then constitution (more life and better knockdown resistance, though not so noticeable on archers as it is on knights).

I say go for dex, you can increase other stats with items later on. Don´t worry too much.

Alright. Will do. What are some key skills, or abilities, that I should see to taking?

Tricks no less than lvl 5, get at least the first 3 spells, they are basic for any hunter setup. Ambush lvl 2 if possible.

Then bows. This one is a bit longer :P

Both types of bows are good but longs have some complications like shield pierce damage, wich isn´t functional to your lvl and damage potential but to the skill level so sometimes like at lvls 18 to 20 shield pierce lvl 2 (maximum level until 21) will hit more or less the same than a normal shot. Also none of the skills is useful to lvl except for break apart (the seventh skill in the Lb tree). I really prefer putting points in short bows (you can still use a long bow to fire more powerfoul normal shots and waste less arrows). Short bows do less damage, but have two great skills at low level in the mastery tree: dual shot, wich feeds from your weapon damage and adds a little more, making always more damage than your average, and lightness, wich increases base dex and therefore, damage. Unlike Manuver, lightness is passive, wich means you don´t have to cast it, ever. It´s with you all the time and it´s points well spent.

Phew.

And then pets, that´s really important. Tame lesser creatures is for wasps, beetles, spiders, snakes, you know, bugs and small stuff. Tame beasts allows you to capture animals, wolves, bears, hienas, pumas, that stuff. Control monsters is for ciclops, tol-tars, gol-tars, thralls, orcs, gargoyles and such. If you get the "you do not have the required level to tame this creature" sign it´s one of two things: you didn´t put enough points in the tame skill or the moster is two or more levels higher than you. As a general rule, only tame mobs you see normal.

Next question? :P

I'll try to answer. I only have a hunter but I have fought many markmen:

1. Which class is more rewarding?
This is tough as it depends on what you mean. Marksment are HUGE damage dealers but are slow. Hunters are very fast with the ability to stalk and wait for the right time to attack. I have always been a "stalker" so I perfer the hunter.

2. Which is faster at leveling?
I leveled my hunter to lvl 50 in 2 weeks (before fatigue). If don't right you can level non-stop with a hunter. I have never leveled a marks...but they burn though mana.

3. Taming and usefullness in PVP?
You can tame anything with a very few exceptions. Can't tame ghosts which suck As for pvp....I think I do quite well with a pet. I'm able to take on 3 or 4 vs me. A clan mate and I have a standing record of 9 at once....all lvl 45+

4. Feared in battle??
This isn't a class thing it's a player thing. There are some marksmen that are really tough (Gpomal), but there are many marksmen that run when they see me. So it really depends on the name you make for yourself.

Good luck regardless of which way you go...
