I wanna to understand more details about the PvP system of this game
I am seeking a free mmorpg with a good PvP, then, please, I hope someone can answer my humble questions: 1- I already played several games that have so many penalties related to PvP that really make the PvP impracticable. I wanna to know which kind of penalties and limitations exist about the PvP of this game. 2- If the PvP is viable in this game, I wanna to know If we receive something doing the PvP, like, is possible to loot the "corpse" of the player killed or we receive more XP ? We drop some iten or equipment when we are "killed" ? 3- The PvP only happnes in definite PvP areas ( like arenas or something like this ) or can happens in everywhere ? for instance, I am just fighting against some monster in some area, and sudden a player can attack me ? Is really fun the "thriller" of feel that sudden someone can attack me, but, is boring games that The PvP only happens in some few definite areas... I not played this game yet, I am waiting for the anwer first. Thank you. |

2. The game is pretty much constant pvp or rvr. You get RP for killing someone. Currently it only provides ranking but I'm sure NGD has something useful for it in the future. 3. PvP (or RvR) can happen ANY where outside of your realm's safe-zone. Once you enter the war-zone your free-game to anyone but fellow realm-mates. If you want to fight your fellow realm-mates you have to do so in the arena. Hope this helps...

Its a good and exiting pvp system, primarily realm vs realm
and fairly well balanced. The big flaw lies in evasion system making abit more luck based and frustrating than it would need to be, hopefully this will change in future. 1. no penalties, you can teleport to your save/altar or resurrected by an other player. 2. You only gain points and since it is a fairly small community a reputation. You dont loose any points by being killed either, they are pretty useless but there is a high score list. 3. Yes there is a war zone, but in future realm vs realm fights will involve invasion of the inner realms which currently are safe zones. |

I came to Regnum Online from the team-based FPS Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, and IMHO, Regnum is the perfect combination of MMO and FPS in terms of PvP.
The RvR (Realm vs. Realm) aspect encourages great strategic battles if you have a team where everyone knows their roles. The three different realms compete to take the forts of their enemies in the war zone: excellent objective-based PvP. Individual PvP occurs more when players are "hunting" in the war zone. This can be very exciting, especially if you are deep in the territory of your enemy -- you never know what is going to happen next. Certain classes are better suited for "fort wars", and others for solo hunting. You will also have to level up to around lvl 30 before you can really have an effect in the wz. (Though you can do this all with quests very quickly). Level cap is 50. Regnum Online also uses "wasd" keyboard movement like FPS (not point and click mouse movement) -- this makes a big difference to PvP.
