5k is somewhat extreme, make it 500 tha would be good, and it's an act of kindness from NGD.

you could just fill in your b-day in your profile, make it so you can't change it afterwards.

What about a nice amu or weapon that lasts for maybe 3 days? Birthday date should not be changeable then anyway.

Edit: Maybe give this present at the day of creating the char?

Although the original suggestion isn't very good... and in the wrong section, he might be onto something. Instead of getting a gift on the players actual birthday, why not make it one year from the day you created the character. Iirc in Guid Wars you receive a mini-pet on your 1 year anniversary of playing the game.

And i think 5000 Xim is fine for someone who willing to stick around for a whole year. You can't get much with a 5000 xim anyway. Those long time players who aren't able to purchase Xim have a chance earn that much needed horse.
