Problems saveing game configs

I switched operating systems from XP to Windows 7, When I try to switch the settings around it says "Can't save game configuration!" and then closes out. Has anyone had the same problem? Maybe I'm doing something wrong

Run the game as administrator.

Something it's wrong with your Windows 7,i think you don't run a original version of Win 7,you run a remastered version of Win 7.
Also there are some viruses that can broken users read/write settings.I saw one of this kind that was common with Vista one.
In a original version of Win 7 will never happens this,but if you run as administrator as Znurre told for sure he will run.
