NGD, is my account safe?

I'd like to remove a gem from a weapon but have no xim. I can't imagine anyone would buy xim at this point until you tell us if our passwords are available or not.

You haven't told us what is going on at all for the most part and it is very disappointing. Are our passwords still available or did you at least fix that?

Unprofessional to say the least.

I appreciate that you are an indie developer, but you need to provide our accounts with more security if you expect us to keep supporting you.

Locks, anti virus programs...all of it is just to keep honest people honest. The only safe computer is one that has no internet connection and has never had any removable media inserted in it that wasn't burned on it in the first place. Security is a myth and illusion to make us feel better, it exists in the same place perfection exists...it doesn't.

To explain, what I think that OP and Rising cold are trying to say:

Regnum was hacked in some manner, or a user took control over some of the accounts.

There are rumours, about logins and passwords being stolen from the server, but a user, who changed his password, got his gear stolen, characters deleted as well. More rumours, about the login/password database being still under the control of an unknown user arose. GameSamba temporarly stopped purchases of Ximerin for their accounts (correct me, if I'm wrong). Therefore, there is a discussion, whether the accounts are safe, or there's still the possibility of having your account interfered with - is it safe to trust our accounts, or is there high probability, that the attacker can still mess up our stuff, if we invest real money into it?

Another, slightly different rumour is, that when of the GameSamba's GM's got banned (due to interfering with another person in real life), he/she took "revenge" on NGD by messing around with peoples accounts (his/hers GM account didn't get blocked after the normal character ban, perhaps due to lack of communication between NGD & GS?)

Please note, that the above are only speculations, that I noted from NGD's forum and Facebook community. None of those rumours are confirmed by NGD or GS members, and are purely possible reconstructions of what might have happened.
Furthermore, my knowledge of computers is purely user-based, therefore I am not sure, whether the above is even possible.

NGD has given no official statement regarding the happening. Few posts on forum, or in-game (that are by no means "official", since they are not widely-distributed) hint, that some NGD personell is on GDC (simply not in the office), and in combination with Easter holidays in Argentina, they cannot solve the issue At the moment.

GS has acknowledged the problem, however they don't seem to know anything about the true nature of the problem, as they recommended the users to change their passwords, which doesn't prevent the damage from happening.
