Few problems ( crashing, refresh rate, no game icon)

I just started to play this game, and I am already thinking to quit, because I actually can not play it.

I have Linux Mint 13, 2GB ram, AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ CPU, ATI HD 4850 graphic card with proprietary drivers.

1st problem : After the game is installed ( and after reinstall ), game shortcut icon is represented just as a blank white file.

2nd problem : When I run the game in full screen it change my monitor refresh rate to 75Hz and native is 60Hz, so I have screen flickering and I get crashes like every 2 minutes. If I run it in window mode, game screen does not fit properly, so I do not even see my skill bar for example.

3rd problem : even on low graphic details, when for some reson ( luckily ) game do not change my screen refresh rate to 75Hz I still have crashes, just not that often like when it change it to 75Hz.

Are there any solutions for this, or I will have to say good bye ?

I cant play it on Linux either, i am on Ubuntu 12:10 ... i have seen many other users complain about this, still no sign of a fix, if there is one, i have missed it, not playing for this, and many other reasons, too much broken to enjoy the game, same old maps, same old forts, not enough content, my money, and yours, is better spent elsewhere afaik
