Question Graphical Errors

I am able to launch the game and get the point where I can create a character. However, the screen where I can create a character is black. Also I tried just entering the game world but the main play area of the screen remains black. I am running Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit and I have ATI/AMD proprietary FGLRX graphics driver installed. My graphics card is the Radeon HD 4890. Thank you for any help.

Try adjusting the options in the launcher.
Also, try using Alt+Enter to switch between fullscreen and windowed mode when in the game, it's known to solve the issue for some people.

I tried Alt+Enter and that does not fix the problem. I tried running the game with the graphics options turned down and in safe mode. Now the graphics are partly drawn. For example, I might be able to see my characters legs and head but not his chest. Also the graphics in the background are also partly drawn.

It's working now. It looks like it there was a problem with the driver that I installed for my graphics card.
