Retal: Too excessive?

Thanks to the update, it's possible to see how much damage is being dished out by reflection spells such as retal and karma mirror. I knew my HP went down a lot, but it scared the pants off me when I found out how much.
The screenshot in this was taken while the target only had level 4 retal active, not even the highest it can go



One more hit from an enemy barb and I'd be done for after attacking just 1 archer. Do you think this is a bit excessive? Not asking for it to be nerfed. Just wondering what others think (archers, feel free to comment but I am expecting biased opinions).

Seems you are too op and for such attacking with full buff on archer with retaliation active you deserve such punishment. That's life.
BTW if that poor archer didn't it like that he will be probably one hitted by you and thats what i find more excessive.

That poor archer has 200k hp. He'll be fine.

I mean, to be fair, the title should be '3k barb crits, too excessive?' I mean, I don't think you should even be allowed to hit that high considering health pools are around 3.6-6k depending on class, but that brings about a whole load of balance talk and yeah, I think barb needs to be redesigned to be honest.

You don't really know the circumstances. If this critical hit was the final hit of tfb with fulmi, onslaught 5, with bless weapon 5, OwTH, HoTP and on an unbuffed opponent, then this is possible for almost any barb, but also quite rare. You don't really see many 3k barb crits these days, but this is getting off track.
But hey, as we've seen, as long as you keep your buffs up it can almost kill the barb! Let's just say I'm scared to hit archers now I've seen this..

I like this spell and how it works right now VERY much. Regnum needs MORE of dynamic stuff like that.
though, cooldown is a bit low

Agreed. I actually like the spell. I think the cool down was changed in a recent update - not sure what it is now, but it was definitely way too spammable before considering the amount of damage it reflects and absorbs.
