Cannot establish connection with server

Hail everyone. This is my first night trying to play the game. I get "Cannot establish connection with server." On the main page it says the server is up and 350+ people are playing it. The load screen verifies the connection with the game. I click on enter world and voila - cannot establish connection. Am I doing something wrong, or is the game down and the information on the main page wrong?
