Yet another rant on fatigue.
Just hit 20 today and immediately got the exhausted message. I've been playing games for 20 years, online games for 10+ years. I've probably logged more hours into gaming than some of the people here have spent living. I've yet to come across such a moronic game concept than "Fatigue". This is the first game I've ever played that actually punished those that played and lets face it fatigue is punishment. You play more than 4 hours and you're punished for it, play more than 6 and your really screwed. Now I understand some of the reasons why they implemented it. But I think you find other ways to achieve your goals. I think you will find the majority of people are very disappointed when they learn about fatigue. And when I explained it to one person their only reply was "That's really gay". That pretty much sums up what I think about fatigue as well. If you want to slow down leveling decrease xp gains, if you want more people warring, make it worthwhile to go to war. But please for the love of this game remove fatigue. It's a horrible concept.

yes i agree with both of you i used to actually want to play this game in hopes of achieving lvl 50 but i just dont see a point.
ngd the reason that you told us for putting down the xp was due to people getting to lvl 50 too fast but wouldnt it be a better idea to do taht when theres actually something to do in those high lvls? i mean if there were actual quests that we could do that would help us on our way to it then i would think fine but no all there is is just boring killing the same thing over and over and over why would you make us do more of that?

I think you've hit on a very good point there. Getting to level 50 quickly would be a huge problem if there were actually some use to being below level 50, or something to do (other than grind). Of course, you're still cannon fodder in the warzone below 50. I say this despite being 43 and never doing anythign else. So why wouldn't you want to be stronger? There's nothing interesting to do other than kill people, you may as well get the grinding out of the way and do it efficiently. If the game had a story, or some other sorts of benefits that would be missed out on if all you did was grind to 50, then I would see it as a good idea to discourage JUST grinding somehow. But then those other activities should serve to undo the effects of fatigue (as should say, being in the warzone... So fighting for your realm would actually count the clock down, perhaps?) |

I do think that the fatigue system is a good idea, i used to level on the weekends only, in big chunks of around 8hrs +. when the reworked fatigue system was introduced, i started levelling 100k per day, using those 4 hours available.
The one thing that actually slows down levelling though, was the reduced exp per mob...this makes it harder to level, as you have to kill many more mobs to achieve your goal. Apart from the exp reduction, i think that fatigue is no real problem |

ok, 1st off with so many post on fatigue already, Why,WHY,WHY start another one? Fatigue is here for 2 reasons 1: To keep ppl from lvl'ing 17 hrs a day, 5-7 days a week(unhealthy, go get some sun, FREAK!) and 2: To keep ppl from getting lvl 50 in like 1 1/2 weeks for free. NGD has to cover costs. So buy Xim and guess what....No Fatigue. Free to Play ≠ Free to develop. I do think that it should be tweaked though. It should be counted like XP scrolls and can be used over the course of a week(like cell phone minutes). So, if you only have time to Lvl on the week ends(mine off days are Weds,Thurs) you are not limited to 8 hrs total. So kill 15 mobs, time is counting, Stop, go to fort war/WZ, Time stops, Go kill more mobs, time continues... Kill mobs "X" hrs a week for free, Buy scrolls for more time at +50%, 100%, 200% XP...Wiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DISCLAIMER: The numbers quoted above are completely made-up! Do not tell me how no one plays 17 hrs a day. Matter of fact 17 (as stated previously) is made-up and does not EXIST!

Hawk, this thread was posted a while ago, your post seems.... late
And counting as killing mobs 'X' hrs a week for free would go against the point of the game as a F2P game, it is fine the way it is IMO.. 4hours full exp per day is enough, as NGD have shown that the average user does not level more than this. If you are only on at the weekends, you should get more time to level those days than the people who play everyday?... erm how about no? You have the general 'jist' of why fatigue was implemented though. P.S. Took me 7months to get my conj to 50, i took my sweeeet time lvling it IMO lvling to 50 in 1 1/2 weeks is not fun |
