which forum will be now official? Ro or gamesamba or something completly new? We should be together, splitting is bad for community :>

While we're on the topic.. .please move the new server to a North American host.

The United States is where many Internet services orginate, because of this nearly all ISPs are optimized to access US-hosted content. In comparison, some countries pick up very high ping times when sending and receiving data from the current Sweden host. For example, Australians pick up over 400-500ms(!) while they would only pick up 200-250ms to a US-hosted server, making the game very hard or impossible to play even though Australia is an English country.

Of course, the ping of Europeans would be slightly elevated to the 150-200ms range, but no more than anyone else's (e.g North American players) is now.

I think this forum will continue to exist for current NGD players. However in the future all registrations will go through GameSamba just as it is now.

This means that over time, the GS forum will probably become the official International forum.

Raven was a US-Hosted server right? (correct me if im wrong on this) I still picked up 400-500 ms ;P and i currently live in australia

Regnum Online forum will remain active for the English community. From what Frosk told me (And correct me if I am wrong Frosk) GameSamba users will be able to access this forum as well.

All servers are hosted in Sweden via CityNetwork.

Gifting Ximerin would be interesting to say the least. Considering we are all on one server now, it would be rather odd if a player which has GameSamba account cannot gift Ximerin to a pal on a NGD account.
Besides , this would pretty much solve the issue of players wanting to consolidate their Xim on one account. You would gift it to your needy account. The original sale is already registered with the publisher so there should be no issue.

At the end of the day there will be teething problems, a little chaos and both sides of the equation trying to work out how to operate within the respective cultures of the servers. Expect a crazy first few weeks. I'll probably log in just to take in the insanity, raging and spirited chats this will cause. That would be rather entertaining in itself.

Hopefully when the dust settles, all can get back to addressing other major issues that this merge will no doubt mask for some time. Population is a serious issue but, the game has other fundamental and conceptual issues that we must not lose sight of either.
This one will hopefully dull the effect of imbalanced invasions and make things a bit more balanced, at least this is what NGD hopes. Considering the migration patterns I am not quite sure yet. Such an idea may flatter to deceive. If players go back to original Horus accounts it could become rather interesting demographics indeed.
Another factor is the policy of a shepherding to forts. In my estimation this could on work well on low population with the effect of trying to draw players together and make the server look alive. With a boosted (?) population would this work out as well or would more flash points be needed? NGD will have to work that one out. I know what I think but there will be time for that discussion later on.

In regard to player merge from both servers, I have 3 chars on horus and 1 on raven, will this mean I will have the choice to select from all 4 chars even though I dont have the 6 char option on my account?

Haven will be in the same server hive that Horus and Raven (and all Regnum servers) always were located. So, no latency changes.
