I normally use multiple weapon trees but only on low lvls. When grinding I'm using blunt as main wep and pierce as secondary, only because of the passive strenght though.
For hunting and Fort I use piercing and slashing weapons, usually with spear as my main wep. Slashing because of disable limbs.

I don't get problems with switching weapons.

I'm the first one to admit that switching weapons a lot makes me f*** up a lot, but don't you guys miss some essential spells, like MS, or Disable Limb?

MS may have gotten an indirect nerf with the shortened durations on things like Ao1, UM etcetera ... but still? Just askin'

there are kinda not enough points for dual weapons, maybe with new update it will change a bit, however i still switch for spear sometimes to knock someone but i miss ms since im using slash.

Most people posting setups here, talk about level 50 setups, while most people who ask for help, seem to be a bit lower and want advice to grind, so I will give it a shot to give some tips on grinding with a knight.

First of all, if you can do quests, do them. In my experience a knight does not gain xp by killing mobs very fast, so doing quests will always be faster. When you have to grind(and you will), it is the best to find a party. You will kill faster, rest less and gain group experience. Also, having someone to talk to makes grinding more bearable for me. It is a great way to get to know new people too.

Spells:

Taunt. Definitely a great help when you are grinding. Not only increases it your damage, but it also has a 20 sec cooldown, which is just a little more than/about the time you will spend on killing 1 mob. Another thing making it great is the range. Since it is range 25, you can draw mobs from cliffs and other places you can't reach or pull them away from annoying aggro mobs.

Now I am starting to grind a bit on my level 50 knight, I really miss this spell in my current setup.

When you grind a lot solo, I would advice skilling Stone Temple. More hp means you can kill more mobs before resting and since more constitution also makes you regenerate hp faster, you'll still rest as long as before.

My own experience with Offensive stance is limited, but since you do take more damage when it is activated, I would only use it in groups to avoid being hit too much, since mobs rarely turn aggro on knights in such cases(except when you use high level taunt)

The first attack spell in each weapon discipline can be nice to add a bigger punch to your arsenal and the low cooldown and mana cost make it ideal for grinding since you can use them every mob. I like the weapon buffs too to increase my damage output when grinding.

Areas and auras like Heroic Presence, Shield Wall, Onslaught, etc. are great to leech xp in parties. However, it is considered unethically to use auras that provide no real advantage to a group just to gain xp. For instance, people sometimes use Deflecting Barrier on groups when grinding, but since this aura only offers protection against ranged damage, it is of little use against most mobs. The knight in this case just leeches XP without giving his fellow players anything in return.

Crowd controll spells like balestra and ribs breaker or the knock downs are good to keep mobs off your allies. They are sure worth skilling since you could save their lives with it one day.

Caution is a great spell to reduce damage from mobs, since their damage is still in a range in which armour has a noticeable effect. If you have the points to spare, this spell is useful, but what prevents it from becoming a must have spell for grinding knights is the fact that it is not cooldown = duration.

In general you, as grinding knight, will want to focus on maximizing your damage output, while you also want to make sure you don't need to rest after one or two mobs.

This is where there is a big difference between grinding and war setups that some people forget. In the Player vs Player part of Regnum, which is the major part of this game(especially now killing players also gives xp), your job won't be to maximize your damage output. Most classes will easily outperform you on this one.

In war I'd say a knight should protect allies, keep himself alive and harass the enemy with crowd control. Other classes excel at the killing part, so it is better to let them do that work.
