that is the way how to attract players to a new server. Many players will join because they know they are starting from scratch like everyone on the server. They will be one of the very first people in warzone, they can grow up with the server. All these kind of motives a player has why he starts to play are gone when you allow transferring characters (in the frst few month of the server).

Ignis doesn't have the most candidates to move. Entire clans of syrtis are prepared to move if migrations are allowed- mine included.

Both german servers are still very lightly populated, are they not? The biggest German clan in Regnum still plays in RA because there were no character transfers.

Incorrect. The # 1 motive for me wanting to leave is improved communications. The #2 reason is reduction in lag.

These are perfectly legitimate reasons for a player to want to transfer over his characters to the new server. Indeed WoW and most other MMO's do character transfers all the time.

no, they aren't, at least not Muspell. You have to consider that the players are only from one timezone and only from Germany, Austria and Switzerland (usually). And not even all german speaking regnum players play on german servers at all, they prefer Ra because of it's international athmosphere or because they already had a character when german servers started. Did you see any german speaking user asking for transferring his character to on of the germans erver?

What is far more relevant is that ENGLISH players are asking for transfers in huge numbers here in this thread.

I would suspect, there will be Global Chat in the new server if in case someone feels lonely ............ but if that happens, it will be taken away sometime anyway.

Maybe the new server needs a kickstart:

1. The transfer of existing characters from current server.

2. Extra XP on mobs for 2 weeks.

Let migration go!!! I don't want the same english ppl that Own/Rule RA to be carried over! Let the ones who work the hardest flourish not the ones who WORKED the hardest. Listen guys. You got your reps on RA, work hard and build them up again on English Server or stay on RA. It's an opportunity for some new Legends to arise! If you look at this thread MOST ppl advocating Migration are lvl 50 or have could have been by now

I don't think the server is as much to get old players to leave RA as it is to allow an environment for NEW players to come and stay, thereby increasing customer base. NGD prolly has the #(stats) of how many ppl stopped playing due to "lack of english environment" and Players = $$$$
