NGDs,

if you are doing so many changes please take in consideration also to fix the invisible weapon bug. It's one of the most annoying bug for the warriors.

By the way:

- the "+" "-" on the compass doesn't work for me.
- when you activate a power from the spell bar a blue square box appear over the power (for a really short time). This box doesn't fit the size of the spell icons.

The minimap, the interface buttons and the face are not important features to appear in videos, they're sometimes in the way.

These were my test results, also comparing fixed pipeline and shader model 2.0

Also, can't stop the quests window from coming back because it re-appears after hiding the UI.
Hi! Can you do the same test in Horus?

Thanks!

What I noticed...
-when you minimize chat using that little "-" button, you have trouble to make it appear the same way
-if you close spell book and map, they don't keep their default positions/zoom
-enemies hp bar does not have border
-you can't delete succeeding things from inventory
-the mini-map +/- buttons are bugged - don't work
-the map button at mini-map is somehow bugged - works only after multiple clicking...
-character hp/mana bar is too narrow
-I didn't discover for what is the "option" button in friends list...
-when you disable the on-screen quest list in options - UI, and then you click on the screen shortcut the quest-list appears again, although it still shows as if it's disabled in the options.
-log cannot be resized (maybe intentional, but still...)
-having active spells (positive and negative) on the right side is very confusing for me. I liked them at the left-top corner. Also the icons could be bit larger

These are my first noticed problems. I hope they help

Otherwise, great job NGD! the new UI is absolutely stunning. If you successfully smooth out the bugs, I nominate this update for the far most promising lately
Keep it up

Sure. But I couldn't do it on the same spot because it was near the save altar so other players were interfering.

Without UI on shader model 2.0

I hope it helps.

I just noticed that my armor settings were screwed by the options window again.

So pretty much, you just proved NGD did a good job with the GUI, and it's up to par with the old one. Now nobody can complain.

Well, a more evolved UI will cost more, there's no miracle.
I'm surprised enough it doesn't cost that much compared to the old one.

I see ~7 fps of a difference that the new gui makes compared to the old. That's not much, considering the improvements (or lack of, depending on how you look at it).

I made a few tests on Mac OS X 10.6.8 Mac Pro ATI card.
HD resolution 1280x720 (720pp)

At tests with UI :

Fixed pipelines(low details:
-Amun ~ 65 fps
-Horus ~ 105 fps

Shader 2.0(low details):
-Amun ~75 fps
-Horus ~120 fps

Shader 3.0(low details)
-Amun ~70 fps
-Horus ~85 fps

Shader 4.0(low details)
-Amun 75 fps
-Horus 80 fps

Shader 4.0(high details)
-Amun ~30 fps
-Horus ~45 fps

Seems the big drop it is in fixed pipelines and shader 2.0,also in high details.

Without UI:tests in progress.

Hmm also there seems to be a issue with draw the citys. If i stay in same place and i rotate camera to plain i have full fps, when i rotate camera to a city direction my fps drop to half(ex: from 25 fps drop to 17 fps, from 80 fps on plain drop to ~40 fps to city)

Made a video record(watch on 720 pp for better details) :
