The first server was Ra and being from Argentina lots and lots of Argentinians and other Spanish speaking countries (and even from others that weren't Spanish speaking) started to play there. Being a success NGD started another servers (like Horus -called Haven now- for English speaking players). So from the start RA was more populated and therefore the realm hopping was not so obvious. But as time passes by, more and more players have started other chars in other realms so at certain periods -like invasions- you can notice a growing unbalance population. This explains why Ra hasn't being affected yet by the multirealming. But if nothing changes it will ruin that server too. I understand that many ppl want to be on the winner side but what they dont realize is that if everybody does the same, there will be no enemies to play against and therefore they will get bore to death and leave the game too. It is a problem that must be solved by NGD because many players will go on doing the same thing as long as they can. |

Gnup, Month, I hear ya'. That said, a further explanation of the matter may be in order: years ago, many Horus Gelfs & some Igneans as well chose to play Alsius realm on the new international server Raven when it opened & was available. Later, Raven closed, as other CoR servers have, & was merged with Horus, which was re-named Haven. Now, many Syrtis & Igneans had a choice of which realm's acct they could play. This was abused, & so, NGD placed a time-lock on various in-game acquisitions: wmc, xp, rp. Diehard 4th Realmers found ways around the block, & continued this abuse. NGD chose to allow it as these accts were valid, even tho their prolonged & continued use was slowly, but surely, destabilizing Haven's population & various realms' morales & behaviors. Over time, many Syrtis & Ignean realmies who had no Alsian toons yet chose to make such an acct, to be with those former realmies that had returned from Haven & played other realms both there, & now here. Doing so furthered the imbalance & the problem persisted & would only grow worse. Too many grew too accustomed to "winning at all costs" (ZERGING!) & perhaps also to those ppl that they multi-ed with, & thus, Haven became a server with most players usually in one realm, & that realm usually has been Alsius the most part of the past couple years. Reds & Greens have both formerly had their boomer-heydays as well, as sadly, Horus/Haven population balance has been fleeting, & imbalance mostly endemic, almost systemic. Suggestions have been made, many say another merger is called for, & others say various changes or promotions, etc, but IDK, it all is what it is, & we'll see what we see when we see it....

After all the merges we have seen the only conclusion possible is: They don't work because they dont solve anything. If Haven merges with Ra the most basic problem -the multirealming- will still persist and therefore sooner of later it will ruin Ra as well. So the only possible solution is to solve the multirealming problem. How? Idk. I leave it to the professionals. |
