Chilko, if its that bad then dont do it at all. Wait until you can afford to introduce a promotion period that you can get profit out of. Other top MMO's like you announce such things to the people beforehand because they can. It doesnt make sense if youre going to do it anyways if its just pot luck someone caught wind of the special deduction at the time.

P.S. I hope I dont sound like Im trying to tell you how to do your job, thats the last thing I intend to do. NGD seems to manage themselves fantastically as it is, considering the somos pocos

Sure, I see your point Chilko. I know how capitalism works. I don't regret that I bought Ximerin for 20€. I calmed down and don't care about the 20% now. But it's about principles.
It might be a bit too early to announce it some days before the promotion starts, that's true. But it's also too late to announce it after the promotion began! And on the english page the message appeared some hours after the campaign started. I heard that from many other players now, as well.
If that will happen too often, costumers will stay away and go to competitors if they feel treated better there. Nasty rule of capitalism, too.
Don't see this post in a too angry way please, I just lacked the words to explain it better.
An announcement on the same day just a few hours before the start should be enought I think. I also think that you should reconsider the prices of Ximerin (items). But that's not the point here now.

I think oftentimes what people forget is that this game still has to be viable financially for NGD, and they have a very very fine line to walk between keeping balance between free and premium content not disrupting the RvR aspect. So far i think they have done a pretty good job. There is nothing that you can get from a lucky box that you cannot from grinding or from trading, you cannot buy mag for xim, you cannot buy boss drops. The best items in the game you cannot pay for with real money (especially since you cannot trade xim in most cases).

It seems to me like every time these guys do something nice like this and give you a xim bonus (or an event, or an update, or whatever) ppl bitch about it, myself included at times. They sure as hell dont have to do it, and hell, they could make it like other so called F2P and charge 80 bucks for some stupid virtual sword that makes you op and imba, but they dont. I have gotten lucky and i think the last 2 times i chose to buy xim, they ran a promotion like this, so i bought a decent quantity. I purchased one luckly box when Wulfgar hit 50, and the rest has been on tele scrolls, paints, horses, exp scrolls, hammers, etc, things that make the game a bit more fun and unique to me.

You dont need to buy xim, but i chose to support a company that has made a game i have really enjoyed and that has enhanced my life for the last 2 years. Capitalism is a nasty mistress and the sad truth is that in order to get a long, you need money these days, so i can see why they dont announce then.... Of course, perhaps 24 hours prior would be a good compromise to at least get the word out.
