Without safe mode I crash after pressing play. I've attached the backtrace.
I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 RC amd64 with an Asus M3N78-EH motherboard and an Nvidia Geforce 9600GT GFX, driver version 185.18.36-0ubuntu8.

EDIT: when trying again the same crash happens, and a similar backtrace is generated. The only difference is that the memory addresses have changed. Running in safe mode I do get to load and play the game.
I can confirm my FPS increased a lot, 6 times the old value. A question: what's the OAB thing left of the FPS in the information box?

Thanks for the quick reply Chilko.
I tried to install what you gave me, but durinjg installation it cancelled because I didnt have the right requirements apperently. I did select the XP Home Edition and the latest installer, etc but it wasnt having it.
After looking through the terms of agreement, I saw that my type of Chipset wasnt included in the list of Chipsets that could be updated with this program. I think I may have hit a brick wall here.

crashed after pressing play

On force safe mode it's ok, check screenshots, however I do get fps spikes and there are some graphical problems (screenshots)

Hardware: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5200+, Nvidia 9600 GT, RAM 2 Gio
Software: Ubuntu 9.04 (jaunty) 64bits, Linux 2.6.28.16, NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-185.18.36

If I try to play with normal settings, it always crashes just after selecting my char.
But it works under safe-mode.

I've done alot of testing of the engine during this testing phase.
These are the bugs I've found so far:
  • If a fort/castle door is destroyed, you cannot enter the fort/castle.
    There will be like an invisible barrier.
    If the door is there, and the fort is yours, you can enter as intended by double clicking the gate.
  • During nights and certain times of the day, all textures will get messed up with weird colors.
  • The game will crash when loading the world if Terrain Detail is turned on.
  • The View Distance option in the settings is not affecting anything and a restart of the client will reset its value.
  • Many animations will just render black artifacts, and some are not displayed at all.
  • You can walk along the slope in in hills without falling down, which was not possible using NG3D 1.0.
  • The character preview on the character selection screen is displayed without weapon/armor.
Using ArchLinux 64-bit, latest NVidia Drivers, GeForce 9650GT, 4GB DDR2 800MHz RAM, 250GB HDD and Core 2 Duo 2.53GHz 1066FSB 3MB Cache

Apart from the problems already mentioned ive found none.

Interesting point though, if i play in windows with direct3d, i let a lower fps when i max things out than i do in opengl.

If i force safe mode for both, i get a higher fps on direct3d than opengl

Under linux, im noticing the same things as znurre

I have no TestServer Folder all is in the LiveServer folder and I can't change the language.

Press V and click on a mob

Third picture:
I removed the torch to use a weapon, then I logged off. Now the quest is over and at the login I have the torch in the character's hands. In attacking mode my character does nothing. He stands and makes damage.
