A kewl idea would a an aura, that prevents getting more than 10% of hp dmg in one hit, for you and allies nearby.

that would make other class high powered hits pretty much useless, thous inbalencing the class's

that was the reason they made the resists happen alot more they r trying to not let any one class dominate

thats the point if this, such a knight could stay in the middle line, and support conjurers so they wouldnt die in a barb 2 hit combo

And dont forget that would be just a arua with range 10, duration sth like 30 and 500 mana cost

Protector isn't useless.. It won't make RP eager people earn much RP, but calling it useless is wrong.

Imagine this:

Syrtis have captured Trelle.
One knight cast Protector and Army of One and tells a barb to give him onlslaught.
Then he can rush into the enemy without getting too damaged and they won't notice at first that he is using Protector.
Everyone will try to damage him, and focus will get lost from the rest of the group and then our warlocks can enter the field, cast terror, knight disable Protector and start to attack people.

Another scenario:

1vs1 pvp, knight gets damaged a lot, enables protector to sit down and rest.

* Can also be used to succefully reach conjurers inside a bunch of enemies.
* Can be used to retreat from a rush without dying.

Conclusion: Protector isn't bad, there is just no big use for it.
But IF you use it right it is good.

As Boger said, that is the whole point. Knights should also get a spell like retaliation, only it doesn't stop at the first hit, deflects less dmg and uses a lot more mp. I'm sure that would return knights to their former glory.

Hum i think you over estimate the efficiency of protector. The protection it gives at lvl 5 (what a waste of points) is only 50% so forget about resting since you wont even go out of combat status and wont even regen 1 hp. So basicly 1 on 1 protector allow you to take half dmg and not doing any ==> useless. The only useful aspect could be to run but you cant cast speed spell and have still half chance to get hit by slow spells (and damaging)...

In battles protector has a visual effect that makes it easy to see and then allow not to attack knight with it (not even talking that knight is the most stupid class to target in fort battle)

Yes.. I know the animation.
But still, I have seen so many Alsirians attacking knights using protector, so it gotta work for Syrtis too.

And, I know it's a 50% chance but that's why you combine it with Army of One, and in the rush scenario the point isn't for the knight to reach it's target, it's to drag the attention from his mates.

People are so RP hungry, they'll simply think "ohh a single player rushing to us, let's kill him" and unleash all their skills at once. If the knight is lucky he survive, he might not but if he don't he have still done a favour to his realm.

Army of one alone would make almost exact same result (the damage reduction is awesome enough, if you want more block use precise block lvl 1) and you will still be able to hit (the fact that the knight really deal dmg will drag much more attention from the ones that bother about conjs life) and you still have the mana that would need protector. Use some thunder/lighting strike and the whole attack would be much more efficient than the same using protector.

You probably wouldn't be able to attack without protector anyway - usually if no one from your side dares to attack the enemy, it's when the enemy is on the fort wall. And there's lots of them. Before you counter this by saying Znurre said that the knight was supposed to rush, it was also said that the point was to draw attention from the enemy so the warlocks and marksmen have a chance.

no that isnt the point if im not mistaking the point was to fix some spells chars seem to think dont work right

not add spell that given them almost invinceable status
