It's a different issue. Holding down shift doesn't stop my character's movement, it just blocks me from changing direction or mouse turning.

Because on top of being a key for casting from the extra hotbar, its toogle button that change mouse movment to camera movment.
I guess this feature only exist because of the awesome Point and click movement, then you may only have one mouse button free to handle mouse movement and camera.

Im going to check Enios suggest and see if helps with some of them, even if i use windows.
It can set me off into movement loops, blocking forward key etc and all kinds of crazy things, you dont want in the heat of battle.

Its not, but it actually seem to help with some issues i had (in windows) much more similar to what you posted about, without any real playing, just a first glance getting into loop or blocked keys when hitting right shift and right control while strafing and mouse turning seems much harder to reproduce when disabling repeat keys. Its not impossible but the difference is huge from doing the same with the repeat key function enabled.

Odd, i never had issues on windows regarding this, however, glad to hear it improved.
