I can't imagine what you are feeling, but I can give you advices. My dad died of cancer this year. Try to spent the more free time you have with her. She may recover very well, but don't take the risk not to see her, you will surely regret it later.

Although I don't believe in the power of prayers myself, I believe in the personal strength of each person, and that this strength might be able to help people when in the worst of scenarios! I also think that it is easier to have the strength needed when knowing that there are loving and caring people around, supporting you (i.e. by praying. If you believe in it, do it!).

So I wish for both you and your mother this strength. And, as said before, try to spend your time with her! (Don't see it as a burden, instead, try to make it a wonderful moment for both of you, spending your time together!).
