Actually americans speak native british, the one europe brought to New Land after Columb. The British present in United Kingdom now is the new one, evolved during last few centuries when immensurate political fights were affecting the vast difference between spoken and written word also creating very specific accent.

Both (New Land and British) are not the original Shakespeare's English. Even the Received Pronunciation changed radically through the last century!

You don't know how hard is to speak RP for me. I'm used to the neutral and american pronunciations.
