I would put this change in the short-term pain for long-term gain category, because Invasions sound like they will be alot of fun.
Well,(Nimrod Diaree)it was 20 minutes bangin the door!
Anyway, yesterday we captured 2 forts(samal and merniah) with low level players...we got the forts in under 20 min!

We tried to take Hebred again with a party of five (3 50's, and 2 35's). We spent 20 minutes attacking the door before leaving.

Hebred was the last Syrtis fort uncaptured. This is the only explanation I can think of as to why the door was impossible to destroy (and why the others taken beforehand were easier). If this is the case, a health bar for the door would ease a bit of the frustration players might feel in attacking it.

If that is not the explanation, then it's possibly a bug.

Hi Nimrod Diaree. I think that was the second time in the night when we tried to take the fort. It definitely lasted twenty minutes.

We had a great time fighting you guys though. Your squad really supports each other. Bravo.

Well, in my opinion, this rebalancing of forts is a good thing.
Taking a fort with 6 players was just plain crazy and unrealistic.

Now, you need a real army and tactics to take them, not just hacking and slashing through the guards while the Conjurators heal everyone.

I think it will be more fun to participate in fort wars now. But a health bar for the doors would really be a great addition.

Hi Nimrod Diaree,

This is Nimrod from Horus . (I don't play on Ra)

I have to admit that it was fairly embarrassing not being able to take Herbred. I swear that Samal was 10 times easier to take earlier that day. I was assuming that you were sitting with your friend watching us, amused and/or amazed at how long it was taking.

Anyway, it was a great fight at the end. See you around!

Personally even though the fort changes were good i still don't being unable to solo eferias anymore lol.
The horses i love, but that's coming from a conj so ofc i love them. You'd love them too if you were the slowest class in the game.
Perhaps the mass horse issue could be solved simply with a cost increase, make them like 20k a day, so people really need to think about buying it first, and even if lots of people still buy them they will have to go grind for gold sooner or later.

This is a valid point. But currently on Horus with Alsius during the hours I can play (7pm - 2am PST), getting a group of 6 is probably the maximum you can expect. If the population of Horus does not increase during these hours, those playing will never be able to take the 3rd fort, thus missing out on the Invasion content. (Assuming this is not a bug).

There are possibly two solutions to this:

1) Increase the population on Horus.

2) When a realm has a low population, make it easier for them to take forts. NGD has already taken steps to increase realm balance, so perhaps this is a good possibility.

Default Just a small weigh in on the Horus perspective:

Ok looking at this situation on Horus I believe that Gideon makes a valid point in balancing the servers based on user population to either increase or decrease Fort difficulty.

What I had seen in the past on Horus is low and mid 30 level character parties roaming the WZ able to take a fort by themselves. While in itself you might say this is preposterous and unlikely, look at it from a game play point of view - its a game that is supposed to be fun. A new player basically runs out of content and is forced to grind away with minimal quests to attain higher levels after lvl 30. If they are unable to seize success within the lower and mid 30 levels it may stifle or even limit the amount of players willing to play on Horus.

With this update I believe it should increase the amount of content in the game (quests). Whereas we were previously able to recommend to players new to the game itself that levels after 30 were recommended for going out into the WZ (on Horus mind you) as long as you were with a party, we now have to raise the bar even higher and this may dissuade some ppl from even continuing playing.

Also looking at things from an end user standpoint, I understand that adding super bosses look cool and it is easier to mirror content from one server to another, but it does not make much sense to have super bosses on Horus that the server doesn't have enough users to kill one (maybe if we were all online at the same time, but that doesn't happen).

Now as far as this update concerns character classes I don't think this one has been mentioned:

Marks/Hunter - this class is the only one that pays for the attack instrument (arrow) and the delivery method of attack (short or long bow) so they have to pay for arrows, what is their incentive to take a fort if they have to spend more money on arrows now? I think this update will lend toward more tactics previously described of resulting to hunting parties rather than fort wars on Horus.

While I understand Realm Balancing as an issue. we also need server balancing to reflect the average population online on a server. We all need to ensure proper feed back of these updates that also seem to invalidate character class skills (why have ons when everyone has a horse) or increase the difficulty on one character class (Archer) rather than them all.
