After some days of playing, i like the update. Only thing i'd like to see is that mana costs for buffs get balanced too. Even with much shorter duration the mana costs stay the same. So u have to buff up short before the fight leaving u with realy short amount of mana.

I've only been playing for a little while now, and as a hunter. I was exctied about getting a pet, and broadening my horizons from playing the usual tank. I originally thought that the marksman was useless, but i now realize that it's a better combat class. (According to some, there are also avid anti-marksmen.)
I think, for the hunter since i haven't played marksman, the range of the weapons should be increased. To balance this, maybe a decrease in accuracy for long range. Also, I haven't been able to find a list of monsters you can tame to be your pets, and in the update it says that you can tame monsters with a "normal" difficulty, but i have tried, and failed. This may be something im doing wrong, or the game.

You can tame monsters / mobs that are "normal" to you .... yes ........ provided your taming skill is of the proper level. I believe it breaks down as this

Lvl 1 tame skills = lvls 1-10 mobs
Lvl 2 = lvls 11-20
Lvl 3 = lvls 21-30
Lvl 4 = lvls 31-40
Lvl 5 = lvls 41-50


It's been awhile since I've had to remember this stuff, but I believe this is the general rule.

No it is:
lvl 1 tame skill =up to lvl 11 pet
lvl 2 =up to lvl 21 pet
lvl 3 =up to lvl 31 pet
lvl 4 =up to lvl 41 pet (to revive a lvl 41 pet you need taming lvl 5)
lvl 5 =up to 51 pet

told you it's been awhile..... thanks for clarifying this Lasher ......
I just knew it was close
And after thinking about it......that's how it was 'before' the new taming system of being able to tame 'normal' mobs , including those 1 level higher with the chg points.

On the drop rate being increased, ummm yeah. Over a million XP now and not a hunter drop over lvl 43 yet from aquantis elites.

Byte, i'm sure that if you gave it a proper try you will adapt to these changes and be as effective as you were before, albeit in a different way.
