I think people are expecting too much from Lucky Boxes. Remember NGD has always said that premium items will not imbalance the game? Well, if Lucky Boxes gave items that were significantly better than what can be looted, then people who cannot afford them would be at a significant disadvantage. IMO, Lucky Boxes should be for those who don't want to grind for hours to find a very good weapon. They should not be for people who want a huge advantage of people who don't buy ximerin.
For the record, I have bought a lot of ximerin, mostly for XP scrolls, one Scroll of Mastery, and horses before we could rent them with gold. I recently bought one Platinum box, and was quite happy with what I got. I was fortunate to get something that fits my class, and was of high quality. But I don't want the money I spend to make me more powerful than someone who can't afford ximerin and has put in long hours grinding for their equipment. -Mehgan |

Yes I agree
People are willing to spend quite a lot of money to get an extra edge (me included). These boxes are imo well balanced. I feel sorry for they who only got bad items but it be quite ridicules if they all were top of the line. Mix of grinding maybe a box a month and im sure you get that 'edge' soon enough. I wont be buying any boxes for awhile, i kind of filled my quota. |

Imbalance by Weapons you can also obtain if your lucky at grinding / killing leaders? ehm.. You could also say then XP scrolls imbalance the WZ as the Realm that has most money for them wins the internet..
Dont get me wrong but you should get an item thats worth using for the price you pay for a platinum box. The big issue with current lucky boxes is, that (what isnt obvious or logic) eg. epic weapons can be worse then special ones.. even with same quality. The issue is that you feel tricked when you realize how the whole thing works. Eg.: Im sure ngd made plenty of money with all the lvl 50 marksmen that bought lucky boxes in hope for a good range 30 bow. heh what a fun to realize later that you cant get any range 30 one at lvl 50 with the current system :P Only because theres no regulation and all that License agreement there should be some common sense of whats fair and whats not.. And its plain unfair to make thoses boxes look as if youd have a >good< chance to get a nice and useful item. For me ngd lost all of its ideals what impressed me and made me stay at the game (even when others was more attractive from the pure playing experience).A small group working hard for creating a good game, near to the community. The new "Premium Strategy" after the latest updates seems not making a secure financial basis for RO, its gone over the bounds and feels more like harvesting. I just hope they realize things like that. The game so much lives from its community and ingame friends and "enemies". Btw.: This whole Lucky Box thing is a confession of epic failure. Its gambling and addictive in the way you easily pay more money then you should or want to do. The last thing i thought ngd would actually think of to harvest.. bad karma from me to them. Regards |
