They probably won't restrict the other media. In my eyes, the main reason for all those organisations and governments trying to block, filter or alter internet traffic, apart from the dictators and oppressive regimes, just don't understand the nature of the Internet.

Most of the current leading political figures, visible or not visible, are baby boomers, people who were raised in a time when everyone went to the house of the single family in the street with a television in case of extraordinary events like the coronation of a monarch or a football(soccer) championship.

The laws are just not suitable for the whole new world the internet is, and currently people who have trouble with even using some of the most basic tasks of a computer have a huge influence on the regulations. They try to hold onto their old world and apply the same structures that are in use in the Real World to the internet.

That doesn't work, but it will take a while until the regulators understand it.

Just a few months earlier Kevin (K)Rudd wanted to try and control the internet in Australia. This meant: No good games, no porn, no websurfing, no internet really. He just wanted business on the aus web. But the defenders of the internet raged and we won.
