Well, if you can get the elevation information, somehow write a script to let us know the shortest path from point A to point B. In regnum (esp Ignis) the shortest distance is not a straight line because some objects/slopes are not 'climbable' while others are. Probably this has got something to do with the slope. I would certainly use this tool if I could find the shortest way from gate to arena, or gate to tenax, altaruk to mede/mele. I am not sure whether it is doable, but this is all I could come up with

Edit:
Again, I didnt even go into the computational complexity of finding the slope between each point on the way between A and B. Maybe there is a proven free algorithm/matlab package for this already, I have no idea.

May be you could convert it into counter strike map format, we can load it in a private server and shoot the heck out of each other... again I didnt dive deep into the technicalities.. just a layman's idea..

Awesome job! I was thinking it would be able to record something like that from mountains with max view distance. This can be really useful!

Two very nice ideas indeed. The first one (about optimal routes, not quoted) seems hard to me. Or more precisely, impossible to me. Anyway, it's easy to add placemarks or 3d models of anything present in the Regnum World, and the add some static routes between strategic points, avoiding obstacles.

and i think it's not completely imposible. I mapped some levels for the old CS and I'll make some research to see how can i make one, from my actual files and data.

Im reading other posts, even if i dont reply them one by one.
Basically, everyone likes the look of the project, but they dont find it very useful as a game tool. I will wait for some more feedback and see what are the real posibilities of the project.

Regnum mod for Half Life.

I would most definitely use it. I hunt with another hunter all the time, and when we are both in camo it's a bit hard to know where each other is, even with mumble + positional audio.... I would definitely use this tool.

The problem that must be solved is the "smallness" of indications in the current map and the impossibility to mark it with personal indications, like in other games.
(The same is true for the npc locations, as in the territory as in the cities-villages).
