u gotta make up your decition on the way you play....a lock is true, doesn't have good defense skills but that won't ever make me leave playing as one of them....try to check on the spells book and if u can see some action videos on youtube and well...with all that you are able enough, i guess, to make up your mind about it....

I've got a marksman and a warlock. I enjoy playing both, but they are very different.
Warlocks are complex to play, with a large variety of spells and tactics available. The warlock is capable of dishing out a lot of damage to multiple people. Sultar's Terror is the most powerful offensive spell in the game, able to hit targets 44.5 meters away (range 34.5 + area 10), larger AoE than just about any other offensive spell, long knock-down, good damage. Several other area damage and dizzy spells, lots of crowd control, energy barrier, create mana. I enjoy playing warlock for the variety of options and powerful spells. Marksmen are far more simple to play. They do not have the great variety of spells available that a warlock has. Basically they shoot far, hit moderately hard, and generally attack one target at a time. Mana is often a problem in war, unless you've got some support conjurers around you, so you'll often spend most of the battle shooting normals. My marksman's clan title is "Finisher" because I generally try to kill wounded targets that are attempting to retreat, or mistakenly think they are far enough away to sit down and rest. I enjoy playing marksman because it is very personal, like a sniper choosing their single target. I also like playing marksman when I want to relax and play something that doesn't require a lot of concentration. -octopus -Mehgan -William Trelle -Zeddicus |

Mind you, you can also play a lock like a marksman, or a conj, for that matter. Just focus on staff magic, good slow staff, +150 dmg in buffs, +10% dmg passive, 34.5 range with projection, and a speed boost, if you want, then just nail people at a distance, and hit somewhat hard. Not how I'd use one... but it can work. :P

Not really, done all the time. I mean, locks may be GREAT in PVP, particularly when nailing a whole group of enemies, but they are rather limited when grinding, particularly in a group since the spell delay wastes too much time. As a result, locks often just staff grind. This is just using the staff grind techniques to reach out and... kill someone. :P Plus then you still have staff magic for protection dome and mana communion.

41000th post in General Discussion, YAY ME
Also, Warlock. Simply because everyone loves Sultar, at least until it gets the obligatory nerf. EDIT: I saw you'd already made the choice. Good choices. |
